Self Talk
Self Talk
Science reports that we have 50 to 70 thousands thoughts a day which is referred to as self talk.
It is also reported that up to 80% of those are negative.
And we wonder why we struggle in our Christian walk.
1 Samuel 30:6-8
Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened himself in the LORD his God.7 Then David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech’s son, “Please bring the ephod here to me.” And Abiathar brought the ephod to David. 8 So David inquired of the LORD, saying, “Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?”And He answered him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.”
Awareness—he was aware of the emotional climate, you will never solve a problem that you do not understand!
This is where most of us get stuck!
But David—there is always a choice! strengthened himself
I can let this defeat me or strengthen me.
Ps. 103
Sought help—called for the priest, Abiathar, father of excellence or abundance
Asked for the ephod—used to seek the wisdom fo the Lord.
Called on the name of the Lord
Pursue? overtake them?
Pursue! Overtake! and recover all!
Our Father is in the restoration business
But David, had to get his soul right.
