What does the text mean?

Consult your study Bible.

Use a devotional to help you interpret.

Ask mature believers about a particular text.

Does it teach about God? Man? The church? Etc.?

D — Decide

What does the text teach?

Summarize the text in your own words.

What is the standard of God’s word?

Where am I in relation to God’s word?

What needs to be corrected so that I can close the gap between where I am and where God wants me to be?

A — Act

How will I obey the text?

Set a practical and achievable goal based on your decision.

Put a plan in place to achieve your goal.

Be as specific as possible.
