Revelation 13:11 “11 Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon.”

Revelation (King James Version) B. The Attack through the Second Beast: A False Prophet, 13:11–18

He appears to be a lamb, for he only has two horns like a little lamb. No person is ever afraid of a little lamb. There is nothing about this beast that seems wild or evil.

Lamb-Like
Horns frequently symbolize power.
Just like a lamb, he appears innocent, harmless, mild, meek, attractive, and lovable. religiously clean, free from evil and violence and wrong and ungodliness. Nothing about his appearance to frighten anyone. He appears to represent the Lord Jesus Christ and peace and love and joy. People will think that he can do no wrong, or at least not any serious wrong.
Spoke like a dragon: Despite his lamb-like appearance, the message of the second beast is the same as the message of the first beast. Disregard what he looked like.
Spotting the Fake-counterfeit
Two horns of the beast- SPiritual and secural powers , profess to be the ministers of Christ, to be like him in meekness and humility, and to teach nothing that is contrary to godliness.
(Mtt. Mat. 7:15-16).
Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. You will know them by their fruits
What a symbol did Jesus choose to use to discribe those who appear in the name of God but not for God! Wolves in sheep clothes! and this is the message for this age.
Outwardly looks harmless and kind with good intentions but inwardly is full of self-centredness, evil and deceit. persons who twist truth and Scripture to fit their own agenda. They teach false doctrine while making it appear attractive. People who profess a “form of godliness but denying its power.”(2Tim 3:5).
He looked like a lamb, but spoke like a dragon. i thought he was a lamb, until he spoke.
The Lamb of God
Revelation 14:1 “1 Then I looked, and behold, a Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with Him one hundred and forty-four thousand, having His Father’s name written on their foreheads.”
The Lamb is standing with the 144000, sealed with His Father’s name. “His” here is in refernce to the Lamb. the lamb has a father and whose name is the 144000 peole sealed.
In Rev 7:2 this seal is called, “The seal of the Living God.”
John sees on one side a lamb-like, and on the othwr side a lamb. John can now confidently say, though the first one looked like a lamb, it is not a Lamb.
How are we to identify The Lamb? How are we to tell who is of the Lamb?
Earlier John had identified Jesus as te lamb of God. John 1:29 “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”
But who made this revelation to him?
33 I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’”
John 1:29 “29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”
John 1:34 “34 And I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God.”
Notice the sign given to John to know the Lamb of God. “Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him.”
There is only one way to identify those who are sent of God: “The presence of the holy spirit in their lives.”
Descending and Remaining in him-
John was not to look out only for the descencion of the Holy Sprit upon the man, but more importantly, the abinding of the same Holy Spirit in the man!
John 14:16 “16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—”
John 14:17He dwells with you and will be in you.”
Ezekiel 36:27
“I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances.”
Acts 6:3 “Therefore, brothers, select from among you seven men confirmed to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will appoint this responsibility to them.”
Acts 6:5 “5 And the this pleased the whole multitude. And they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit, and Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas, a proselyte from Antioch,”
The aostolic church was vibratnt, united, and converting the world because they placed God’s work in the hands of the HolySpirit. who is in charge of your church today?
Application
1 John 4:1 “1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.”
Isaiah 8:20 “20 To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.”
It is the indwelling holy spirit that causes us to obey. It is the indwelling holy spirit causes us to submit to God’s will
It is the presence of the holysipirit in a bilievers life that creates meekness.
It the presence of the holyspirit in a believer that removes the contoversial spirt, the contentious spirit, and creates a contrite spirit.
it is the presence of the spirit of God in a believers life, that reveals the truth that the church is God’s property.
It the holy spirit’s presence in a believer that makes them feel so unworthy to occupy the least of the service of God.
Look out for such that are filled with the Holy spirit.
Look out for them whose walk is a demonstration of the fruit of the spirirt.
But are you able to tell the difference? To spot the fake, you must be aquitend with the real.
A lamb like exercises the power of the dragon-the Lamb of God exerciseses the power from above. Mathew 28:18 “All the power and authority in heaven and earth has been given to me.”
A lamb-like works for the first beast and the dragon (v.13,14); The Lamb of God works for God the father (The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works Jn 14:10)”; I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me (Jn 5:30).”
A Lamb-Like decieveth them that dwell on earth Rev13:14- The Lamb of God is the truth, and in Him no lie.
A lamb-like has power to give life unto the image (15); The Lamb of God is life. ( Iam the way , the truth, and the life (Jn 14:6)
A lamb-like forces people to worship the dragon (v.16); The Lamb of God invites people to come and reason with Him.
A lamb-like is opressive and a persecuter of God’s people (v.17); The Lamb of God liberates and redeems.
. Luke 4:18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed;”
A lamb-like Reveals the dragon (v.11); The Lamb of God reveals God the Father ( Col. 1:15 “15 He is the image of the invisible God.”
A lamb-like exhalt himself above the throne of God; The Lamb of God Phil. 2:6-7 “6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.”
a lamb-like is self exhalting; The Lamb of God is self sacrificing.
where do you belong today? on whose side are you laboring? who are you following?
The 144000, follow the lamb whithsoever He goeth, they recieve theseal of the Living God; But who are you following? Whose seal are you recieving?
A lamb-like is not A lamb. Behold The Lamb of God!
