Introduction:
Soon after becoming a Christian, a person discovers that living the Christian life is not a bed of roses.
Actually it is quite a battle, with a real struggle against three foes:

1.
An external enemy: the world
2.       An internal enemy: the flesh
3.
An infernal (hellish) enemy: the Devil

John warns us that we are not to love the world: if we love the world the love of the Father is not in us.
It is impossible for you to love two exact opposites at the same time.
/ /
Jesus put it like this:
/"No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other.
You cannot serve God and mammon./
(Matthew 6:24 NKJV)

Worldliness keeps us from having:

1.
The power of God
2.       Spiritual effectiveness
3.       A good witness for the Lord

Saying there is a such thing as being a /“worldly Christian”/ makes no more sense than saying there is a /“heavenly Devil”/.
·         If I see a bird that looks like a duck & quacks like a duck & waddles like a duck & eats like a duck, then I get the idea that the bird I say is probably a duck.
·         If I see a person who live like the world, acts like the world, loves the world & is part of the world then he must not be a Christian.
