We all experience failures, hurt, pain, disappointments, and rejection. David’s indiscretions in the previous chapter have trickled into his children’s life. In 2 Sam 13 David's oldest son’s actions lead to horrible consequences that caused a lot of hurt and pain in David’s family. The purpose of this message examine the Pain and show God’s remedy of how to be healed after experiencing HURT. I will start the story at verses 6-15

2 Samuel 13: 6-15 6 So Amnon lay down, and made himself sick: and when the king was come to see him, Amnon said unto the king, I pray thee, let Tamar my sister come, and make me a couple of cakes in my sight, that I may eat at her hand. 7 Then David sent home to Tamar, saying, Go now to thy brother Amnon’s house, and dress him meat. 8 So Tamar went to her brother Amnon’s house; and he was laid down. And she took flour, and kneaded it, and made cakes in his sight, and did bake the cakes. 9 And she took a pan, and poured them out before him; but he refused to eat. And Amnon said, Have out all men from me. And they went out every man from him. 10 And Amnon said unto Tamar, Bring the meat into the chamber, that I may eat of thine hand. And Tamar took the cakes which she had made, and brought them into the chamber to Amnon her brother. 11 And when she had brought them unto him to eat, he took hold of her, and said unto her, Come lie with me, my sister. 12 And she answered him, Nay, my brother, do not force me; for no such thing ought to be done in Israel: do not thou this folly. 13 And I, whither shall I cause my shame to go? and as for thee, thou shalt be as one of the fools in Israel. Now therefore, I pray thee, speak unto the king; for he will not withhold me from thee. 14 Howbeit he would not hearken unto her voice: but, being stronger than she, forced her, and lay with her. 15 Then Amnon hated her exceedingly; so that the hatred wherewith he hated her was greater than the love wherewith he had loved her. And Amnon said unto her, Arise, be gone

How to heal from wounds will be the focus of this message.
wounds are defined as injuries that break the skin or other body tissues. They include cuts, scrapes, scratches, and punctured skin. They often happen because of an accident, but surgery, sutures, and stitches also cause wounds. Minor wounds usually aren't serious, but it is important to clean them.
Most wounds become infected by bacterial colonization. Can result in pain, heat, redness, swell, pus, and odor.
A wound gets healed by keeping the wound dressed. Wounds heal faster if they are kept warm. Avoid prolonged exposure to air because it may slow the healing process. washed, ointment, covered

Amnon wound was his youthful lust and abusive nature is caused by what we think about, see, and desire.

Genesis 3:6 KJV 1900
And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
1 John 2:16 KJV 1900
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
James 1:14–15 KJV 1900
But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
Biblical remedy- Abstain, flee, repent, understand your triggers, renew mind, Walk in the Spirit
Galatians 5:16 KJV 1900
This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
Romans 12:2 KJV 1900
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Psalm 119:11 KJV 1900
Thy word have I hid in mine heart, That I might not sin against thee.

(3-5) Jonadab’s wound was evil advice and counsel. The remedy is to seek Godly counsel

Psalm 1:1–2 KJV 1900
Blessed is the man That walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor standeth in the way of sinners, Nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; And in his law doth he meditate day and night.

(11-18) Amnon rapes and rejects Tamar.

Tamar wound abuse, rejection, and a broken

The remedy is to understand God’s grace makes you a person of value. Psalm 34: 17-19 The righteous cry and the Lord heareth, And delivereth them out of all their troubles. 18 The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; And saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. 19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: But the Lord delivereth him out of them all

The Holy Bible: King James Version, Electronic Edition of the 1900 Authorized Version. (Bellingham, WA: Logos Research Systems, Inc., 2009), Ps 34:17–19.Tamar mourns, Absalom comforts her.

(21-22) David’s anger and inaction. Davis had both the governmental and paternal authority to confront and correct his oldest son. He also had the fatherly covering to comfort and protect his daughter. Perhaps he felt like he was to blame because he sent Amnon to Tamar. As a parent do not like your failures cause you take action do so in love . Proverbs 22:15

Proverbs 22:15 KJV 1900
Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; But the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.

Absalom murders Amnon. Absalom wound was passive-aggressive vengeance. Instead of confronting his brother and demanding justice from his father he did not speak with his brother for two years.

Remember put it God’s hands - Vengence is God’s
Matthew 18:15 KJV 1900
Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
Romans 12:19–21 KJV 1900
Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

(30-36) David learns of the murder of Amnon.

(37-39) Absalom flees to Geshur.

PAIN is the universal sign that we are on this earth that has fallen from God’s original purpose.

Pain hurts, whether it is physical, mental, or emotional… PAIN HURTS. The Bible promises one day there will be no more pain, no more crying

Revelation 21:4 (KJV 1900)
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

2 Corinthians 4:7–11 KJV 1900
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.
God, Himself can relate to us and HeaL us so we can He other
Hebrews 4:15–16 KJV 1900
For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
How do recover from wounds?
1)We must discern who is our true enemy?
Ephesians 6:12 KJV 1900
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
