No doubt we have all learned through disappointing or painful experiences, that many people fail to keep their word.
We usually learn this lesson at a relatively young age, and it is confirmed time and again as we proceed through life.
But God’s promises are always kept!
We can always trust His Word!
His promises are sure!
Psalm 89 is a prayer for God to keep his promises.
Especially the Davidic Covenant
David’s seed would reign forever over an everlasting kingdom

We need to be like the Psalmist here and even in the difficult times, we need to praise the Lord for who He is!
As we exalt Him, we should not only praise God for His faithfulness to His people throughout history but also what He has done for us personally!
Don’t let your prayers be too general and unspecific, or we may fail to appreciate all that God has done for us on a daily basis.
Taking time and meditating on His goodness to us is a great tool for finding things to praise and thank Him.

During these times we really have to take God at His Word.
In Hebrews 11 God told of the heroes of the faith.
Everyone of them faced trials and tests of his/her faith.
In spite of the circumstances, they believed God and acted according to His Word.
In the dark valleys, trust God!

God’s rejection of the king was actually the fulfillment of His covenant.
The king and the people had rejected God’s promises by disobeying Him.
Therefore, God chastened His rebellious people exactly as He had promised.
God also promises to chasten us when we persist in sin.
When we experience God’s painful discipline, it does not mean that God is breaking any of His promises to us.
