Joshua 1:13–18 (NKJV)
13 “Remember the word which Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, saying, ‘The Lord your God is giving you rest and is giving you this land.’
14 Your wives, your little ones, and your livestock shall remain in the land which Moses gave you on this side of the Jordan. But you shall pass before your brethren armed, all your mighty men of valor, and help them,
15 until the Lord has given your brethren rest, as He gave you, and they also have taken possession of the land which the Lord your God is giving them. Then you shall return to the land of your possession and enjoy it, which Moses the Lord’s servant gave you on this side of the Jordan toward the sunrise.”
16 So they answered Joshua, saying, “All that you command us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go.
17 Just as we heeded Moses in all things, so we will heed you. Only the Lord your God be with you, as He was with Moses.
18 Whoever rebels against your command and does not heed your words, in all that you command him, shall be put to death. Only be strong and of good courage.”
The People of Israel har learned one important thing in their wondering in the wildernes.
The important think was that the lord was with them.
As long as the lord was with them, the wilderness did not matter, the scorpion in the desert, no the heat by day did not matter.
As long as the Lord was with them, the lack of water nor lack of food in the wilderness did not matter.
As long as the Lord was with them, the rebels who were among them who try to subvert God’s people from the way did not matter.
As long as the Lord was with them, they knew that all this problems and circumstances were really nothing.
As long as the Lord was with them, the mighty men canaan, and the fotress of the cities of cannaan did not matter.
Don’t forcus on the wilderness or the things that are in the wilderness, Dont foucs on the obstacles, focus if the Lord is with you.
I am Here to tell you the Lord is with us.
Genesis 28:12–15 (NKJV)
12 Then he dreamed, and behold, a ladder was set up on the earth, and its top reached to heaven; and there the angels of God were ascending and descending on it.
13 And behold, the Lord stood above it and said: “I am the Lord God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie I will give to you and your descendants.
14 Also your descendants shall be as the dust of the earth; you shall spread abroad to the west and the east, to the north and the south; and in you and in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.
15 Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you.”
Just like the way God revealed himslef to Jacob, he also has revealed himself to us.
He has has spoken to us and given us a promise.
He has promised to be with us until he fullfills all that he has promised.
Because he is with you and me, he will protect us wherever we go.
We must not fear,
Jacob after the Lord had spoken to him, he faced many challenges and difiiculty but because the Lord was with him he always was victorious, he always came out on top.
When he face life threathening situation, the Lord was with him and he always overcame.
Isaiah 41:8–14 (NKJV)
8 “But you, Israel, are My servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, The descendants of Abraham My friend.
9 You whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, And called from its farthest regions, And said to you, ‘You are My servant, I have chosen you and have not cast you away:
10 Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
11 “Behold, all those who were incensed [very angry] against you Shall be ashamed and disgraced; They shall be as nothing, And those who strive with you shall perish.
12 You shall seek them and not find them— Those who contended with you. Those who war against you Shall be as nothing, As a nonexistent thing.
13 For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, Saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.’
14 “Fear not, you worm Jacob, You men of Israel! I will help you,” says the Lord And your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.
1 Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt. And Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had taken him down there.
2 The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.
3 And his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord made all he did to prosper in his hand.
4 So Joseph found favor in his sight, and served him. Then he made him overseer of his house, and all that he had he put under his authority.
5 So it was, from the time that he had made him overseer of his house and all that he had, that the Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the Lord was on all that he had in the house and in the field.
6 Thus he left all that he had in Joseph’s hand, and he did not know what he had except for the bread which he ate. Now Joseph was handsome in form and appearance.
the statement “the Lord was with Joseph” starts here. he was in the will of God, and therefore God was with him.
In this undesirable circumstance he was in, God blessed him and blessed those who were around him for his sake.
when The Lord is with us, in every situation there is a blessing. The environment around us is blessed for our sake.
Because the CHurch is in this nation, and the Lord is with his church, he will bless the nation for the church sake.
Your family, your workplace, your Neighbourhood God will bless it because he is with you.
20 Then Joseph’s master took him and put him into the prison, a place where the king’s prisoners were confined. And he was there in the prison.
21 But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and He gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.
22 And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph’s hand all the prisoners who were in the prison; whatever they did there, it was his doing.
23 The keeper of the prison did not look into anything that was under Joseph’s authority, because the Lord was with him; and whatever he did, the Lord made it prosper.
The Might of God’s people
Judges 6:12–16 (NKJV)
12 And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, “The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!”
13 Gideon said to Him, “O my lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about, saying, ‘Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt?’ But now the Lord has forsaken us and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.”
14 Then the Lord turned to him and said, “Go in this might of yours, and you shall save Israel from the hand of the Midianites. Have I not sent you?”
15 So he said to Him, “O my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.”
16 And the Lord said to him, “Surely I will be with you, and you shall defeat the Midianites as one man.”
Gedion was not a mighty man of valor, but in that moment when the Lord was with him he became the mighty man of valor.
“Go in this might of yours”, this might is that the lord is with him.
The might of God’s people is that the Lord is with you.
Go in this might and face the challenge, go in this might and claim your victory . This might is the lord is with you
God’s response to Gedions speach concering his weakness was “Surely i will be with you”
God’s response to our weakness, how we cannot overcome the difficulty, is Surely i will be with you.
Today God is saying Surely I am with you.
2 Chronicles 15:1–8 (NKJV)
1 Now the Spirit of God came upon Azariah the son of Oded.
2 And he went out to meet Asa, and said to him: “Hear me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin. The Lord is with you while you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you.
3 For a long time Israel has been without the true God, without a teaching priest, and without law;
4 but when in their trouble they turned to the Lord God of Israel, and sought Him, He was found by them.
5 And in those times there was no peace to the one who went out, nor to the one who came in, but great turmoil was on all the inhabitants of the lands.
6 So nation was destroyed by nation, and city by city, for God troubled them with every adversity. [ this is what happens when the Lord is not with his people]
7 But you, be strong and do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded!”
8 And when Asa heard these words and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage, and removed the abominable idols from all the land of Judah and Benjamin and from the cities which he had taken in the mountains of Ephraim; and he restored the altar of the Lord that was before the vestibule of the Lord.
The Lord is with you while you are with him.
Take courage and od what you can to keep the Lord with you. Don’t worry or be afraid about anything else. He will take care of it.
The Lord is with you people of God !
