Welcome!!

Good evening and welcome to our night of Praise and Celebration. My name is Jeff Pagel, I’m the pastor here at First Baptist
Tonight we bring together some of the best in worship music that the lower valley has to offer.
Our time together here tonight is not about denominations and churches. Our time here is to
Worship and Glorify the Lord Jesus Christ.
Let talk about worship for just a minute...
You can worship sitting, standing, kneeling, laying flat on your face.
You can worship with your hands raised, with your palms up or down.
Our music tonight is to bring you into the presence of The Lord. What you do their is between you and the Lord.
We would ask that your worship tonight is not disruptive to others and does not draw attention to you and your actions but is focused on the Lord, Jesus Christ. May He be Praised.
I’ll be back at half-time for a short 15 minute message. This will give our musicians time for a breather.
Without further delay let’s welcome our band tonight… [clap]
Let’s pray....

Message

I hope that tonight you have been ushered into the throne room of God.
I hope that you have laid your burdens at his feet.
I hope that you have confessed your sin and are in communion with the Creator of Universe.
I am convinced beyond any doubt that our time here tonight is pleasing to God… We as a community of believers are coming together. Putting our insignificant differences behind us and focusing on Jesus.
With a clear heart and a clear mind…with a soul that is connected with others in common.
Let’s open our bibles, apps or however you connect with scripture.
I’m using The Message tonight. A great way to connect with scripture and God’s worship when doing a devotion.
I wanna start reading in verse 1.
Isaiah 12:1 The Message
1 And you will say in that day, “I thank you, God. You were angry but your anger wasn’t forever. You withdrew your anger and moved in and comforted me.
This verse reflects God’s frustration, God’s anger with the people of Israel. They have disobeyed, they have turned their backs to God.
They have become idolators… They have exchanged everything that is good and right for evil.
Question: Was that statement about the prophet Isaiah and the people of Israel? Or was it about me and you and the people of our community, of our state and nation?
We know better… we have committed our lives to Christ the Holy Spirit, the very temple of God resides in our hearts.
Still we sin and wander from God and his commands.
Thank God… You withdrew Your anger from us. Thank God you forgave us.
Because of what did for the people of Israel and for us we can say...
Isaiah 12:2 HCSB
2 Indeed, God is my salvation; I will trust Him and not be afraid, for Yah, the Lord, is my strength and my song. He has become my salvation.”
I came to Christ as a 25 year old. My life was in a shambles. My life was very messy. My heart and mind were filled with sin.
God put me in a place where I finally recognized that he and his ways are the only way...
As a result I FINALLY recognized that
God was and is my salvation
I did and can trust him… completely
And when I had NO STRENGTH, he was my strength and song and MY SALVATION.
I HOPE THAT YOU CAN SAY THAT TONIGHT!
Isaiah 12:3–4 The Message
3 Joyfully you’ll pull up buckets of water from the wells of salvation. 4 And as you do it, you’ll say, “Give thanks to God. Call out his name. Ask him anything! Shout to the nations, tell them what he’s done, spread the news of his great reputation!
Notice carefully verse 3. There are BUCKETS of salvation. Salvation is for EVERYONE, I’ll say it again loud and clear.
Salvation is for EVERYONE that calls on the Name of the Lord.
Question: Where have we went wrong?
With these buckets of salvation that we enjoy how many more of our family, our co-workers, our neighbors could drink from this cup? The cup that is always full and overflowing with water that will quench your real thirst… FORVER AND FOREVER!
Answer: Nearly every step of the way of our lives we have walked in the opposite way of God.
IT TIME WE RETURN AND FIND GOD IN SPIRIT AND TRUTH, AND GIVE HIM WHAT HE IS DUE.
Isaiah 12:5–6 ESV
5 “Sing praises to the Lord, for he has done gloriously; let this be made known in all the earth. 6 Shout, and sing for joy, O inhabitant of Zion, for great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel.”
God is saying it better than I or anyone else could. Isaiah and all others, all of the inhabitants of earth. Of
Question: Why have we failed so dramatically in “sharing the news of his great reputation” with a sick and dying world?
#1 excuse… I don’t know what to say?
I’m afraid that I’ll say something wrong
I just don’t talk to people and ask them “those things.”
Answer: Well… you don’t have to say anything special, if the Holy Spirit is leading you you won’t say anything wrong and finally as a believer in God word, as a fellow human I don’t want to see any one stand before the God and say I’ve never heard about God’s Grace.
You see it’s delivered to and by us in the cup of cold water or a meal, God will use it for His glory and Jesus will add to their number each day as in Acts 2.42-47.
Because of this GREAT and MIGHY GOD. Because of Jesus Christ and His work here on earth we are here tonight. We are hear to
Isaiah 12:3–4 (ESV)“Give thanks to the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the peoples, proclaim that his name is exalted.
He have here tonight exalted His name and we are just getting started for the second half… Kick-off is coming. We get the chance to run with the ball and
Isaiah 12:5–6 The Message
5 “Sing praise-songs to God. He’s done it all! Let the whole earth know what he’s done! 6 Raise the roof! Sing your hearts out, O Zion! The Greatest lives among you: The Holy of Israel.”
Please, please I beg you. Every single one of us here. Myself and the rest of the Pastor’s here. Start living like we mean it. Start living like we are commanded to live. Be able to stand before God and give him the Glory and honor.
For the lamb of God
Revelation 7:17 ESV
17 For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of living water, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”
Please make sure we are not the ones standing on the inside, in His very presence… looking out at those that we shoulda, coulda, woulda told them about Jesus.
Thanks for this opportunity to share from God’s Word.
I pray that God uses this message to pour into our souls, to stoke the fire of the Holy Spirit and that we never preach the same, we never hear the same, that we never rest until the whole world hears about Jesus.
