Hell is Real
Hell is Real
“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
If you believe the Bible is literal
then you believe in hell.
2 out 5 people don’t believe hell
is real.
Misconceptions about hell: (not biblical)
Annihilation: a theory those who die without salvation are punished for a time and then annihilated or destroyed forever. There is no everlasting fire or punishment.
Universalism: (not biblical) a theory some believe that the wicked will be punished for a time and they will be brought to their senses and saved - even Satan himself.
Purgatory is a intermediary place between heaven and earth or hell where there is still time to effect eternal change. There is no place in scripture that indicates any kind of chance for salvation beyond the grave.
The book of Hebrews makes it plain that each person has one life and then judgement. Heb. 9:27
What happens when people die?
Prior to the resurrection Jesus Christ, each person died went to a place called Hades, the place of departed spirits. There were two vast compartments to this this place, paradise and hell. A great gulf separated the two places. Those who were godly went into paradise and those who were not went to hell. But when Jesus was crucified, the bible says that His eternal spirit went into Hades where He took all the godly saints with Him. The ungodly remained where they were, awaiting their call to the Great White Throne Judgement for their final audit. The souls of the ungodly who die today go to hell to join those who have preceded them, and they too, await the final judgement described in Rev. 20:11-15
Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

Today a godly person is one who is redeemed because of the indwelling Christ, passes away his or her spirit is immediately with Christ for eternity.
Later,at the resurrection, the body - now glorified and immortal-will be reunited with the soul. But when an ungodly person dies, his or her soul goes to Hades to that compartment known as hell to await the final judgement. Just prior to that judgement, the second resurrection will occur - that is, the resurrection in which the unrighteous dead are brought to life. Their souls will be returned from hell and united with their mortal bodies. They will be judged before God as the books of their lifelong records are reopened. And then - body and soul - they will be consigned forever into hell.
And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might,
Hell is not a reform school, but a terrifying place that was prepared for Satan and his sinning legions of angels.
Hell is total separation from God.
and to grant relief to you who are afflicted as well as to us, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might,
Hell is a place of darkness.
see Jude 6
And the angels who did not stay within their own position of authority, but left their proper dwelling, he has kept in eternal chains under gloomy darkness until the judgment of the great day—
wild waves of the sea, casting up the foam of their own shame; wandering stars, for whom the gloom of utter darkness has been reserved forever.
Somehow the unquenchable fire gives off no light, and the lost souls in hell will never see a thing.
Hell is a place of everlasting contempt.
see Dan.12:2
And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
Satan has tricked a lot of people and has befriended them, but the judgement will reveal that Satan has held you in absolute contempt.
Hell is a place of everlasting Torment.
he also will drink the wine of God’s wrath, poured full strength into the cup of his anger, and he will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever, and they have no rest, day or night, these worshipers of the beast and its image, and whoever receives the mark of its name.”
God’s plea is to receive Jesus as
Lord and Savior before it’s too late.
The cross on every church testifies that Hell is a real place. God created heaven for those who choose to live for Him.
A faithful doctor will tell you the honest truth about any sickness you had. A Godly minister will warn you about hell. We all come to church to hear truth and I hope that we believe in that tvruthh. One day, soon and very soon, the wrath of God is going to be poured out and all the devil with his angels will be tossed into the lake of fire. I want to go to heaven about you?
