Dueteronomy 10

God despite what had happened remade the tablets. Reestablishing the covenant. The first time the tablets were made by God this time moses made them. However God still wrote on this tablet.

Moses made a temporary ark to put them in. The one that would be used would be used by Bezalel and Oholiab. Ex 31:1-2 “1 The Lord said to Moses, 2 “See, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah,” Ex 31:6-11 “6 And behold, I have appointed with him Oholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan. And I have given to all able men ability, that they may make all that I have commanded you: 7 the tent of meeting, and the ark of the testimony, and the mercy seat that is on it, and all the furnishings of the tent, 8 the table and its utensils, and the pure lampstand with all its utensils, and the altar of incense, 9 and the altar of burnt offering with all its utensils, and the basin and its stand, 10 and the finely worked garments, the holy garments for Aaron the priest and the garments of his sons, for their service as priests, 11 and the anointing oil and the fragrant incense for the Holy Place. According to all that I have commanded you, they shall do.””

The chest was just used to protect the tablets. Chests were used at that time to do that very thing.

Aaron dies and does not enter the promise land like was promised.

The levities become those who will facilitate worship.

Moses talked with the Lord, and Lord did not destroy his people and would take them to the promise.

The ESV has a title of this section circumcise your heart.

What does the Lord require?

Fear the Lord.

To walk in all his ways.

To love him.

To serve him with all your heart, soul.

Keep his commandments.

Why do these things?

The Lord your God belong heaven, and the heaven of heavens, the earth with all that is in it.

15-16

God called Isreal to be distinct. How can people know we are of God if we do those things he asked.

Circumcision is a sign of the covenant. See someone can be circumcised yet, not truly be changed. ( How do we apply that today though our own works ) What are some of those?

Who is God? 17-19 If you were with us Sunday you know that Jesus is God, the Father is God, and The Holy Spirit is God. But what does this text say about God?

God is God of gods

Lord of lords

notice those things are capitalized.

He is great, he is mighty, he is awesome. ( Hebrew is yaray )

He also is just. Especially for the fatherless and the widow, and the sojourner, giving him food and clothing. Isa 1:16-17 “16 Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean; remove the evil of your deeds from before my eyes; cease to do evil, 17 learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow’s cause.”

19 says love the sojourner. Those who are not immigrants. Gives them reason to do that because they were once that way.

A mark of a believer.
