Worldly Self-esteem

The World give us a standard definition of where our-self value comes from. Appearances, possessions, and accomplishments.
Whether high or low, this kind of self-esteem comes from proud, focuses on self, and doesn't add value to your life.

The one that give us value

On the other hand, self-image based upon the value God places on you is Christ-centered and goes far beyond anything we can ever imagine. Believer ==> leader, you must live your life as someone valued by God.
Illustration of what is a leader, more than just at church.
How can you increase your Christ-center self-image? Word of God. Lets look at the apostle Paul’s letter to the Ephesians.
In it Paul give us 3 reasons we are valuable, 5 important things to know and 5 things to do with all this information from the Bible.
Read Ephesians 1:3 - 14 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predest…”

Why are you valuable to God?

1. You are valuable because of who you are

You are made in God’s image, according to His likeness (Genesis 1:26). A long time ago, even before God created you and before He created this universe, you were the focus of His love. “He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love” (Ephesians 1:4).
Genesis 1:26 (KJV 1900)
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
Ephesians 1:4 KJV 1900
According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

2. You are valuable because of what you cost

As one loved by God, you have also been chosen by God for “adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself” (Ephesians 1:5). This adoption came at a high price, the death of His Son. “He made us accepted in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins” (Ephesians 1:6, 7).
Ephesians 1:5 KJV 1900
Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
Ephesians 1:6–7 KJV 1900
To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

3. You are valuable because of what you became

As a person who is loved by God and adopted into His family, you can be sure that God has a plan for your life: “In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory” (Ephesians 1:11, 12).
Ephesians 1:11 KJV 1900
In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
Ephesians 1:12 KJV 1900
That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.

What we need to know?

1. Christ wants to have a relationship with you

When Paul prayed that “Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith” (Ephesians 3:17), he wasn’t referring to something temporary. Jesus wants to live and relate with you personally and permanently.
Ephesians 3:17 KJV 1900
That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

2. You can experience Christ love

As if being pursued relationally by the Son of God isn’t enough, even more amazing is the fact that He wants you to know and experience the “width and length and depth and height” (Ephesians 3:18) of His love!
Ephesians 3:18 KJV 1900
May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;

3. You can live a full and fulfilled life

Jesus wants you to “be filled with all the fullness of God” (Ephesians 3:19) and came that you might have life more abundantly (John 10:10).
Ephesians 3:19 (KJV 1900)
And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
John 10:10 (KJV 1900)
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

4. God’s power is not limited

He “is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think” (Ephesians 3:20).
Ephesians 3:20 (KJV 1900)
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

5. God can do great work with in you

This divine love and power that exceeds your imagination works in you (Ephesians 3:20) because His Spirit strengthens you and Christ lives in you.
You cannot help seeing yourself as valuable when you really know these truths. But don’t stop there. To live as someone valued by God, you must do something with that knowledge.
Ephesians 3:20 (KJV 1900)
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
Illustration of my atheist preconceptions.

What we can do?

1. Discover you spiritual path and start moving

Paul beseeched believers “to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called” (Ephesians 4:1). Be intentional about living a life that matches who you are by virtue of your relationship with Christ.
Ephesians 3:4 KJV 1900
Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)

2. Be humble and discipline

Cultivate Jesus’ attitude of humility (Ephesians 4:2) by putting others before yourself and following through with what you start.
Ephesians 4:2 KJV 1900
With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;

3. Experience community. Serve one another and stay together.

You will feel more valuable when you work to add value to others’ lives and “keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace” (Ephesians 4:3).
Ephesians 4:3 KJV 1900
Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

4. Use your unique gifts

Followers of Christ are “one body” who belong to “one Lord” and “one God and Father” (Ephesians 4:4-6), but that doesn’t mean we’re all supposed to look, speak, and act alike. God has made you unique, and He has given you unique gifts to influence others and add value to their lives.
Ephesians 4:4–6 KJV 1900
There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

5. Keep Growing because God wants you to grow in all things into Him.

Satisfaction with the status quo always leads to stagnation. Until the day you die, you have the potential to keep growing, leading, making a difference in this world, and adding value to others’ lives. That starts by believing and living as someone valued by God.
Ephesians 4:15 KJV 1900
But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

Conclusion

After you realize and understand all of these truth about God and about yourself. Knowing that you don't need to be the smartest, fastest, strongest, you don't need to achieved anything because He is everything you need and He is stronger in your weakness.
We have freedom in this unconditional love from God the Father pour out and shown by the death and resurrection of Jesus Chris. He bought you for a high price at the cross. This true freedom that comes from Christ is realized when you understand that no matter what you do or think whether in your past, in your present, or in your future You matter. You have value. You are worthy because He made you worthy. You are loved by a Creator who knows you personally and created you uniquely. Start and continue living with that knowledge.
Lastly I just want to encourage you if you ever did a prayer receiving Jesus Christ in your heart truly start giving yourself to Him so He can renew your heart and mind and even if you haven’t I welcome you to do it right now.
John 3:16 KJV 1900
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 10:10 KJV 1900
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Romans 3:23 KJV 1900
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Romans 6:23 KJV 1900
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
The good news is that
Romans 5:8 KJV 1900
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
1 Corinthians 15:3–6 KJV 1900
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
John 14:6 KJV 1900
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
We cant earn Salvation: we are saved by God’s grace when we have faith in His son Jesus Christ.
Lets bow our heads for a small prayer:
God, I know I am sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe that He died for my sins and that you raised Him from the dead for my sins and that you raised Him to life. I want to trust Him as my savior and follow Him as Lord, from this day forward. I pray this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
