Pleasing In His Sight

Hebrews 13:20–21 ESV
20 Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, 21 equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
What does this phrase mean?
It means to

Love one another

Hebrews 13:1 ESV
1 Let brotherly love continue.

Show hospitality

Hebrews 13:2 ESV
2 Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

Remember those being persecuted

Hebrews 13:3 ESV
3 Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body.

Honor Marriage

Hebrews 13:4 ESV
4 Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.

Don’t love money

Hebrews 13:5 ESV
5 Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Be content

Hebrews 13:6 ESV
6 So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”
It means

Do not be led astray

Hebrews 13:9 ESV
9 Do not be led away by diverse and strange teachings, for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by foods, which have not benefited those devoted to them.
Where do we learn to do this?

Hopefully in our leaders, but more importantly in our Lord.

Hebrews 13:22 ESV
22 I appeal to you, brothers, bear with my word of exhortation, for I have written to you briefly.
Let me put this in it’s simplest terms

Do what you say you believe.

Maybe instead of the WWJD bracelets, we need a DWJD one

What Would Jesus Do

Do What Jesus Did

His whole point, think back to chapters 4-6, is move from learning to doing. Move from milk to meat.
Instead of taking from the service, bring to the service.
Instead of waiting on service, begin to serve,
Bring a box of stuffing, serve a meal, sign up to sort clothes at the Bland ministry center.

Stop being the seat of Christ and start being the feet of Christ

Let us live out our faith.

Let us be pleasing in His sight

Because Jesus is greater and we have a chance to show that to the world.
Matthew 5:16 ESV
16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
