- Used in academia

- Friendly association of persons with shared interests

- Choosing to share in a common purpose

3. The breaking of bread

- meals plus communion

- Love feasts Jude 1:12

- Substantial meal with symbolic meaning

- Today - symbolic meal

4. Prayers – followed Jewish times

- House prayer meeting

--

II. The day-to-day living out their faith

1. God was still stirring hearts v. 43

- Awe – Seeing the Wonders of God

- Many signs and wonders

- At the hands of the Apostles

- God was reinforcing their position of leadership

2. Strong bond of unity

– True Fellowship v. 44-45

- Shared what God gave them

- Sold possessions as needed

to care for others

- Close ties to the Essenes

Sold all their possessions

3. Daily life v. 46

- Attended the temple together

- Meals together

- Received with gladness

- Generous from their hearts

- Praising God - Everyday

5. Connecting with others v. 47

- Favor with all the people

- Includes those outside the church

- People saved daily

- Added to the church
