Abounding- Expression

I. Celebrate, rejoice, joyful and grateful
Colossians 2:7 ESV
rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.
Fellowship Offering of Thanksgiving

Pilgrims were early americans who were
seeking religious liberty from the king of England. Thanksgiving for them was a
natural response of prayer to God as an outpouring of their faith in Him.
see 2 Thess.1:3-4
2 Thessalonians 1:3–4 ESV
We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers, as is right, because your faith is growing abundantly, and the love of every one of you for one another is increasing. Therefore we ourselves boast about you in the churches of God for your steadfastness and faith in all your persecutions and in the afflictions that you are enduring.
kjv bound is humans obligated to God to express thanks.
Paul says that their faith continued growing and their love for each other
would grow.
II. Giving Thanks in times of trials and persecutions.
Human struggles we face each day.
Adversity - an opposing force (physical or spiritual) in our lives. God will pay back to those who hurt others.
III. Thanksgiving in Prayer
Philippians 4:6 ESV
do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
1 Timothy 2:1 ESV
First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people,
Many people today have a low standard without any regard of God.
People live game to game, meal to meal, from one relationship to another. Without any responsibility toward God and the church.
1 Timothy 4:3 ESV
who forbid marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.
Many are dependent upon Government support (ss or retirement) but stimulus money.
Conclusion:
I’m thankful for my salvation in Jesus
Christ. Invitation is opportunity to give thanks to Him.
