THE CRUCIFORM LIFE: TO BE SHAPED LIKE A CROSS

OH, PRECIOUS IS THE FLOW THAT MAKE ME WHITE AS SNOW. WHAT CAN MAKE ME WHOLE AGAIN? NOTHING BUT THE BLOOD OF JESUS.

My life will be the map that leads others to Jesus.

I am broken.

I am following Jesus.

I am a worshipper being transformed by the Holy Spirit.

I am a grace giver passing on the grace that has been given to me.

I am a truth teller committed to listening and responding well.

I am a people lover committed to inconveniencing myself to initiate and deepen relationship with others.

The Move From Us To Them...

Giver: We are generous. If we are not sure about our faith or future, we can delay or avoid this role. But if we are committed to Jesus as LORD, this is the most wonderful gift of all. (Matthew 6:21)

Matthew 6:19–21 ESV

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

This is a matter of your focus… Is Jesus Lord? Many of us have trusted Jesus as savior, to forgive our sin. THIS IS THE STARTING POINT!! BROKEN, FOLLOWER, WORSHIPPER. But Jesus wants to be the center of your being. He want to transform our minds and fill us with the Holy Spirit SO IT IS A TRANSFORMATION FROM ME TO US. I BECOME A GRACE GIVER, TRUTH TELLER, PEOPLE LOVER. In summary, this is about continued transformation. Transformation happens through the application of scripture in relationship with God and others.

JESUS IS SAYING, OUR CHOICES AND ACTIONS ARE SHAPED BY THE THINGS WE CHERISH THE MOST.

THE CHALLENGE FOR MOST OF US IS DIVIDED LOYALTIES.

GOD COMMANDS US TO GIVE SO WE BECOME LIKE HIM. TO MOVE FROM ME TO US and FROM US TO THEM!

Servant: We are actively involved. We don’t attend “Church”; we are the Church. We seek out and care for the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of others. (Mark 10:45)

Mark 10:42–45 ESV

And Jesus called them to him and said to them, “You know that those who are considered rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. But it shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

BROKEN HUMAN NATURE SAYS, “MAKE ME LORD”

Give me power and position.

IN CONTRAST JESUS SAYS TRUE GREATNESS IS TO SERVE

MERCY MINISTRY TEAM...

Witness: We have a story to tell. Witnesses do not describe what others have seen or heard; they share what they have personally experienced. The most compelling and inspirational story we can tell is our own. (Acts 1:8)

Acts 1:6–8 ESV

So when they had come together, they asked him, “Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

I am a giver I am generous because real spiritual mature opens my eyes and heart to the need of “Them”.

I am a servant I care for the needs of others.

I am a witness. I have an personal experience with God so I share it with others.
