Joy in Thanksgiving

*Paul and Timothy writing to the Philippians (all saints, overseers and deacons)

*As if Paul and Timothy were writing to the Road Church

*May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace

*May our Father and Lord give us favor, charisma and a state of tranquility

*This setting is perfect for us all tonight in fellowship for a Thanksgiving meal together and how the word of God here can be read over us all here together as a church family.

3 Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God. 4 Whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with joy,

*How this focus from God’s word here must honor and bless our Lord Jesus that we as His church be gathered in this same mind set as Paul and Timothy had for the church of Philippi.

*Why would this bring honor to our Lord Jesus? Why would Paul and Timothy be so thankful and so joyful? Why would we all as a church family be so thankful for each other?

Philippians 1:5–6 (NLT)

5 for you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ from the time you first heard it until now. 6 And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.

*So we see from this next two passages the thankfulness and joy came to Paul and Timothy for their partners in Christ all in participation of spreading the gospel…all together as the church.

*It’s the same for all of us here tonight.......stop look around the room. In some form or fashion,. in gifts and in ministries. We all as this church family are in fellowship together for one reason.......spreading the good news of Jesus Christ to the world out there!

Thanksgiving and Joy

*We do not need to doubt or second guess God’s gift in us because He began the good work in us all here tonight and He will continue that good work in us till Christ comes again.

*So we come here tonight with thankful hearts to God for this church family all loving each other, in fellowship together spreading the good news of His Son Jesus. Amen

*We are in covenant with Jesus and therefore how appropriate to take of the Lord’s supper together here tonight
