God is Good

Psalm 34:8 NKJV
8 Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!
God is is good,
one of the attributes of God is goodness, he is the source of all that is good
Man does tasteand sees the goodness of God but does not acknoweldge it as God’s goodness.
Psalm 33:5 NKJV
He loves righteousness and justice; The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.
The earth ( his creation) is full of the goodness of the lord
James 1:16–17 NKJV
16 Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
Every good thing that is in this world.
Every good thing that we experience in life comes down from The father of all goodness.
He is the source of all that is good.
God shows his goodness towards mankind each day by what he has created
Romans 1:18–21 (NKJV)
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,
19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them.
20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,
21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.
his invicible attribute, his goodness, is clearly seen by the things he has made.
Though man may be willingly ignorant of it it is there.
Man taste of God’s goodness each day and does not know it
Acts 14:15–17 (NKJV) ( PAul and silas in iconium)
15 and saying, “Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men with the same nature as you, and preach to you that you should turn from these useless things to the living God, who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all things that are in them,
16 who in bygone generations allowed all nations to walk in their own ways.
17 Nevertheless He did not leave Himself without witness, in that He did good, gave us rain from heaven and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.”
God has not left himself without witness, his goodness is his witness
Psalm 33:5 NKJV
5 He loves righteousness and justice; The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.
We enjoy the sun, and the ocean and beach God has made.
We enjoy the different types of food the plants which God has created.
We reap from God’s own land and because of his rain and beacause of his Son.
The knowledge that has brought about technological advancement making our lives easier than our ancestors is evidence of God’s goodness.
Isaiah 28:23–29 NKJV
23 Give ear and hear my voice, Listen and hear my speech. 24 Does the plowman keep plowing all day to sow? Does he keep turning his soil and breaking the clods? 25 When he has leveled its surface, Does he not sow the black cummin And scatter the cummin, Plant the wheat in rows, The barley in the appointed place, And the spelt in its place? 26 For He instructs him in right judgment, His God teaches him. 27 For the black cummin is not threshed with a threshing sledge, Nor is a cartwheel rolled over the cummin; But the black cummin is beaten out with a stick, And the cummin with a rod. 28 Bread flour must be ground; Therefore he does not thresh it forever, Break it with his cartwheel, Or crush it with his horsemen. 29 This also comes from the Lord of hosts, Who is wonderful in counsel and excellent in guidance.
This prudent dealing of the husbandman with his produce is the result of the wisdom implanted in him by God
The skill and the knowledge the husband man had in dealing with his produce and the farm is from God.
God gives him the knowledge to be productive and effective. He gives him the skills to make his work easier and much mor profitable.
It is the same today, God give such wisdom to man, in technological advancement that has made our lives easier.
We live in a better house, we drive nice cars, we eat better food and have an abundance of choices of what we can taste. Alll this is God’s goodness.
It requires wisdom to discern God’s goodness
Psalm 107:1–8 NKJV
1 Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. 2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy, 3 And gathered out of the lands, From the east and from the west, From the north and from the south. 4 They wandered in the wilderness in a desolate way; They found no city to dwell in. 5 Hungry and thirsty, Their soul fainted in them. 6 Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, And He delivered them out of their distresses. 7 And He led them forth by the right way, That they might go to a city for a dwelling place. 8 Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men!
It conitinues to mention the goodness of god towards man and then he says again
Ps 107:15 “15 Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men!”
Psal 107:21 “21 Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men!”
Then finally the Psalmist concludes by saying the following
Psalms 107:4343 Whoever is wise will observe these things, And they will understand the lovingkindness of the Lord.

God’s reserved goodness towards his people

Psalm 106:1–5 NKJV
1 Praise the Lord! Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. 2 Who can utter the mighty acts of the Lord? Who can declare all His praise? 3 Blessed are those who keep justice, And he who does righteousness at all times! 4 Remember me, O Lord, with the favor You have toward Your people. Oh, visit me with Your salvation, 5 That I may see the benefit of Your chosen ones, That I may rejoice in the gladness of Your nation, That I may glory with Your inheritance.
There is a special type of God’s goodness reserved only for his people.
According to this favor that God has towards his people not his creation, may god visit you with his goodness.
Psalm 31:19 NKJV
19 Oh, how great is Your goodness, Which You have laid up for those who fear You, Which You have prepared for those who trust in You In the presence of the sons of men!
God has laid up his goodness for those who fear him, those who trust him in the presence of men.
Psalm 65:4 NKJV
4 Blessed is the man You choose, And cause to approach You, That he may dwell in Your courts. We shall be satisfied with the goodness of Your house, Of Your holy temple.
you are blessed because God has chosen you and caused you to approach him and dwell in his courts so that you may be satisfied with the goodness of his house.
God will satisfy his people with his goodness. There is goodness that god has reserved for his people. You will tatse it and you will see it.
Psalm 27:13–14 NKJV
13 I would have lost heart, unless I had believed That I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living. 14 Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!
There were times where david felt that he was experiencing everything else but the goodness of God.
He was in exile, lving in the wilderness, fearing for his life and the lives of those who were with him for the sake of rigtheousness, because of the anointing oil that was upon him.
Deep down in his heart He knew that God’s people are called to taste and see and be satisfied with his goodness.
Believing that one day he will see God’s goodness he persevered.
The enemy that seemed to have the upper hand, God judged and he finally brought hin out of the miry clay and place hi feet upon a rock. He satisfied him with his goodness.
david then said
Psalm 30:11 NKJV
11 You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness,
god will turn your mouring into dancing. He will put off your sacloth of sorrow and cloth you with the clothes of gladness
Jeremiah 31:12–14 NKJV
12 Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, Streaming to the goodness of the Lord For wheat and new wine and oil, For the young of the flock and the herd; Their souls shall be like a well-watered garden, And they shall sorrow no more at all. 13 “Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, And the young men and the old, together; For I will turn their mourning to joy, Will comfort them, And make them rejoice rather than sorrow. 14 I will satiate the soul of the priests with abundance, And My people shall be satisfied with My goodness, says the Lord.”
God’s people will be satisfied with his goodness
God’s goodness will be showen towards his people according to his mercy
Isaiah 63:7 (NKJV)
7 I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the Lord And the praises of the Lord, According to all that the Lord has bestowed on us, And the great goodness toward the house of Israel, Which He has bestowed on them according to His mercies, According to the multitude of His lovingkindnesses.
God’s goodness is not according to the multitude of your work but according to the multitude of his mercy.
Hope in his mercy, wait on him, hold on to his way and he will satisfy you with his goodness.
