In this book, Dane Ortlund shows us the beautiful context which will help us maintain momentum in righteousness…in faithfulness…in our lives:

[Ephesians 2.4-7]

We are told that our eternal home is set for us to enjoy the “riches of his grace through his kindness.”
“It means that our fallenness now is not an obstacle to enjoying heaven.”

We could actually say that it serves as the springboard to enjoying heaven…We see God’s grace and kindness more readily in the areas where we can’t deny we need it.
We will not experience any lessening of the application of the heart of Jesus toward us when we step out of this life into eternity.

WAIT!
I thought you just told us that we will know and experience the heart of Jesus—the love of God—forevermore!
What’s this about ‘to the end’?!?!
Indeed, this is true…Let’s think about the many chapters of our lives—growing up, school (graduations), job(s), moving, married, death...
…(like the one John describes for us in Jesus’ life here in John 13).

John 10.3 “The gatekeeper opens it for him, and the sheep hear his voice.
He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.”
John 10.10 “A thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.
I have come so that they may have life and have it in abundance.”
John 14.1-3 “Don’t let your heart be troubled.
Believe in God; believe also in me.
In my Father’s house are many rooms.
If it were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?
If I go away and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you to myself, so that where I am you may be also.”
