The Lame on Display Pastor Kylon Brune Acts 3:1-26 November 21, 2021 Sermon Notes Main Idea: The Lord continues to grow his Kingdom through the transformed lives of believers and the preaching of Christ and him crucified. Purpose (Vv. 1-11) God’s purpose for salvation. Power (Vv. 12-16) God’s power in salvation. Plan (Vv. 17-26) God’s plan of salvation. Connect How were you challenged or encouraged through Acts 3:1-26 this past Sunday? Study Purpose Read Acts 3:1-2. Ky mentioned on Sunday that the early church’s continued attendance at the temple revealed their intentionality in going to areas that need to hear the gospel. As a church and as individuals, how can we imitate this kind of intentionality in our context today? Read Acts 3:3-6. What are some practical ways that we can demonstrate kingdom generosity in the lives around us? In the passage, what were the results of Peter and John’s generosity with the message of the kingdom? Power Read Acts 3:13-16. In what ways is the power of God put on display at the cross? What does it say about God’s character that he would choose to accomplish his purposes by a means that the watching world would deem weak and foolish (c.f. 1 Cor. 3:23-24)? In 1 Corinthians 2:2 Paul said that he “decided to know nothing among you except Christ and him crucified.” What are some practical ways that we can share Paul’s perspective on preaching the gospel with those God has placed in and around our lives? Plan Read Acts 3:17-26. Ky mentioned on Sunday that ignorance does not excuse culpability before God. Are there areas in your walk with Jesus or relationship with others that you need to be more intentional? What are some practical steps that you can take in that direction?
