As we approach the gift giving season we are reminded of several things:
Gifts can never buy love.
Gifts can never buy loyalty.
Gifts can never buy life.
We see the GIFTS given to His men.

I. The Power Jesus Gave. V.7

7 And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits;
A call to grow.
he called unto him - a call to oneself
A call to gather.

The legal reason.
John 8:17
It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.
The practical reason.

9 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.
10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.
The prophetical reason.

And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
A call to go.
send (apostello) apo: to send, stello: to withdraw from, avoid. To be sent on a mission
Jesus was sent with unlimited resource.

For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.
Jesus was sent with unlimited redemption.

Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

I. Conclusion
Jesus is indeed the SAVIOUR of the world, but is He your Saviour?

And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;
II. Conclusion
Jesus set forth a pattern given to Him by His Father for people to be saved.
Do you follow the pattern Jesus gave In soul winning?
Did you follow the pattern Jesus gave in salvation?

III. The Preaching Jesus Gave. Vs.12-13

A message of repentance. V.12
12 And they went out, and preached that men should repent.
went out - they headed towards the fulfillment of their mission
preached (1828) To discourse on the gospel way of salvation and exhort to repentance
repent - to exercise the mind, think, comprehend. To repent, change the mind, relent. Theologically, it involves regret or sorrow, accompanied by a true change of heart toward God.
John the Baptist preached repentance.
Matthew 3:2 (AV)
And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Peter preached repentance.
Acts 3:19 (AV)
Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;
Paul preached repentance.
Acts 20:21 (AV)
Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ Himself preached repentance.
Matthew 4:17 (AV)
From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Jesus commanded we preach repentance.

And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

They could cast out devils.

20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
They could heal the sick.

What has Jesus given you?

Gifts to accomplish your calling?
