Faith Over Fear

Fear is our natural response to challenges or the unknown.
Fear is an emotion that serves a valuable purpose. (Fight or Flight Response)
It can become unhealthy and destructive when it paralyzes us or propels us into frantic behaviour.
Negative outcomes to fear aside the Bible commands us to not be afraid!
There are over 300 variations of the command “fear not” throughout Scripture.
Fear takes away Power!
Love Empowers!
As Christians, we don’t need to fear because we know God is in control. God is on His throne, meaning nothing else is – not a diagnosis, unmet expectations, or uncertain future. He alone has all power and all authority, and nothing can threaten that.
That means when fear creeps in, we believers are called to take our fear and sift it through the unfailing promises of God and His unchanging character.
Isaiah 41:10 NKJV
Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
We must remind ourselves that we are loved by God! Because He loves us there is no room for fear!
Hebrews 13:5–6 (NKJV)
... For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we may boldly say:
“The Lord is my helper;
I will not fear.
What can man do to me?”
If God is for us who can be against us?
It doesn’t really matter what others think about us. Its what we think of ourselves that is really hurting us.
2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV

Fear is a spirit that wants to steal from you! Steal your peace and joy!
Psalm 23:4 NKJV
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
Even when we are in the midst of things that scare us, we can stand strong and experience God’s saving power.
Deuteronomy 31:6 NKJV
Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”
Strength and courage are measured in the light of the trials we go through!
Don’t let fear control you!
John 14:27 NKJV
Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
God has peace for us in every situation if we can let go of fear and embrace peace!
Psalm 27:1 NKJV
The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?
Fear is a liar. Fear says you are not loved! But God is love!
Psalm 46:1–3 NKJV
God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though its waters roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah
Stand firm on the promises of God! repeat them and memorize them!
Psalm 55:22 NKJV
Cast your burden on the Lord, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.
Talk to God about your fears! And then apply God’s promises to the fear you are feeling.
Psalm 91:1–2 NKJV
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”
We can rest in the fact that nothing takes our sovereign God by surprise. Take your fears, worries, and anxieties before God because He cares about them and He desires your good
1 Peter 5:7
1 Peter 5:7 NKJV
casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
Romans 8:28 NKJV
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
The truth of God’s Word and His promises bridge the gap between the fear you feel and what you know to be true about God and His love for you.
