Signs of the Coming (Son of Man)

English Standard Version Chapter 21

25 “And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves,

The followers of Jesus have always wanted a sign. Jesus was always a bit reserved in giving a sign. 16 And the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and to test him they asked him to show them a sign from heaven.

Jesus answered them by saying, When it is evening, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red.’ 3 And in the morning, ‘It will be stormy today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times. 4 An evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah.” So he left them and departed.

Thomas needed to see with his own eyes to believe and so Jesus returned to him and gave his wounds to him to touch and believe. Jesus says to Thomas blessed are those who believe without seeing. These things he see are of the flesh, but the Kingdom is of the Spirit. 28 Now when these things begin to take place, straighten up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”

But if you are a Disciple of Jesus Christ wouldn’t you get inspired? Jesus tells us of the signs and seeing these signs should lift us up, shouldn’t they?
