BLIND FAITH

Hebrews 1:7 CSB
And about the angels he says: He makes his angels winds, and his servants a fiery flame,
Genesis 6:13–22 CSB
Then God said to Noah, “I have decided to put an end to every creature, for the earth is filled with wickedness because of them; therefore I am going to destroy them along with the earth. “Make yourself an ark of gopher wood. Make rooms in the ark, and cover it with pitch inside and outside. This is how you are to make it: The ark will be 450 feet long, 75 feet wide, and 45 feet high. You are to make a roof, finishing the sides of the ark to within eighteen inches of the roof. You are to put a door in the side of the ark. Make it with lower, middle, and upper decks. “Understand that I am bringing a flood—floodwaters on the earth to destroy every creature under heaven with the breath of life in it. Everything on earth will perish. But I will establish my covenant with you, and you will enter the ark with your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives. You are also to bring into the ark two of all the living creatures, male and female, to keep them alive with you. Two of everything—from the birds according to their kinds, from the livestock according to their kinds, and from the animals that crawl on the ground according to their kinds—will come to you so that you can keep them alive. Take with you every kind of food that is eaten; gather it as food for you and for them.” And Noah did this. He did everything that God had commanded him.

Main Idea: God blesses blind faith.

Key Question: Do you exercise blind faith?

1. Blind faith begins with a walk with God.

Hebrews 11:7 CSB
By faith Noah, after he was warned about what was not yet seen and motivated by godly fear, built an ark to deliver his family. By faith he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.
Genesis 6:9 CSB
These are the family records of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among his contemporaries; Noah walked with God.
Genesis 5:24 CSB
Enoch walked with God; then he was not there because God took him.

2. Blind faith believes God.

A. Blind faith believes God at his word.

Hebrews 11:7 CSB

Genesis 7:1 CSB
Then the Lord said to Noah, “Enter the ark, you and all your household, for I have seen that you alone are righteous before me in this generation.

B. Blind faith acts from a seat of reverence.

Hebrews 11:7 CSB
By faith Noah, after he was warned about what was not yet seen and motivated by godly fear, built an ark to deliver his family. By faith he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.
Hebrews 11:6 CSB
Now without faith it is impossible to please God, since the one who draws near to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
Ecclesiastes 12:13 CSB
When all has been heard, the conclusion of the matter is this: fear God and keep his commands, because this is for all humanity.

3. Blind faith joins God in his work.

Hebrews 11:7 CSB
By faith Noah, after he was warned about what was not yet seen and motivated by godly fear, built an ark to deliver his family. By faith he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.
Genesis 6:22 CSB
And Noah did this. He did everything that God had commanded him.

4. Blind faith is not without cost.

Hebrews 11:7 CSB

Matthew 16:24 CSB
Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone wants to follow after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.

5. Blind faith opens the door to God’s favor.

Hebrews 11:7 CSB
By faith Noah, after he was warned about what was not yet seen and motivated by godly fear, built an ark to deliver his family. By faith he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.

and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own from the law, but one that is through faith in Christ—the righteousness from God based on faith.
LORD’S SUPPER
1 Corinthians 11:23–24 CSB
For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: On the night when he was betrayed, the Lord Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, broke it, and said, “This is my body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”

Thank God for His sacrifice and ask Him to bless the eating of the bread.

Eat!

1 Corinthians 11:25–26 CSB
In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, and said, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.

Thank God for His forgiveness through His blood and ask Him to bless the drinking of the cup.

Drink!
