Rejoice That Your Names Are Written In Heaven

Thanksgiving message for today / really take in and rejoice being a follower of Jesus

God really wants us to be in awe of this, incredibly humbled and not take for granted

The Lord wants to reveal Himself to us today through this event He had in Luke chapter 9&10

Jesus is traveling to Jerusalem / someone comes- says “I will follow you wherever you go”

Lets open God’s word to Luke 9:58

58 And Jesus said to him, “The foxes have holes and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.”

To follow Him He must first take His place within us, have His place in our home

Jesus continues conversation with others

59 And He said to another, “Follow Me.” But he said, “Lord, permit me first to go and bury my father.” 60 But He said to him, “Allow the dead to bury their own dead; but as for you, go and proclaim everywhere the kingdom of God.”

What is Jesus saying here? Things in the past or too many other things to do or take care of first?

His only request was to “Follow Me” / out of that came all kinds of excuses

In Greek it means “Be a Disciple” What did the the disciples do?

Chapter 10 Jesus speaks to seventy others and appoints them pairs

What time of the year is Thanksgiving recognized with? Fall yes.........harvest time

Jesus appoints these seventy, sends them out, this is what he tells them before they go

The harvest is plentiful

Laborers are few

Desire to be a laborer in the harvest (pray this)

Sent out as lambs among sheep

Need no money to do this

Peace to this house (doing everyday life among people)

Kingdom of God has come near them

These seventy come back with joy and report to Jesus

21 At that very time He rejoiced greatly in the Holy Spirit, and said, “I praise You, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and have revealed them to infants. Yes, Father, for this way was well-pleasing in Your sight.

Follow Jesus first (His Disciple)

Go out and reveal Him to others

The Kingdom of God has come near to them

Rejoice in Harvest Time

This could be the most amazing times we are in for the church

Jesus said in chapter 24 nations against nations, famines, earthquakes - beginning of birth pains

They will deliver you to tribulation, killed and hated for His name sake - at that time many will fall away

Many false prophets will arise and mislead many, lawlessness will increase, peoples love will grow cold

The one who endures to the end will be saved!

The gospel of the kingdom shall be preached to the whole world and then the end will come (pay attention what was spoken by Daniel the prophet)

This is why we need to rejoice in thanksgiving and labor in the harvest

434 years till Jesus rides into Jerusalem

Since Crucifixion and till now church age

7 years to go / after gospel preached to all kingdoms
