Intro

- 오늘 마지막 메시지
- So, I thought a lot about what message I would convey today.
- I decided to say three things. I could not reduce into one point.
- I want you to remember these three messages that I convey today.

First, believe in the gospel of Jesus!

- The first message I preached after being youth pastor was the gospel of Jesus. I remember I preached with Mark 1:14-15
Mark 1:14–15 ESV
Now after John was arrested, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God, and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”
- And I have stressed this theme frequently so far.
- This is because the gospel is the most basic of Christian life and the entrance to the kingdom of God and the only way for our souls to be saved.
- Do you remember what the gospel is?
- The gospel is Jesus Christ himself, His death on the cross and resurrection.
- In other words, the gospel is God’s love and power that save sinners like us and that is shown through the death and resurrection of His only Son Jesus Christ.
- And in the response of this gospel, there is nothing we have to do but just believe. Faith is enough because Jesus did everything for our salvation. That’s why this is called gospel.
!! I eagerly hope all of us may believe in this gospel of Jesus Christ and trust in the power of the gospel continuously in your entire life.
>> Then, we can enter, enjoy, and experience the kingdom of God in our lives and eternally.

Second, let the Bible be the standard for your Christian life!

- I mean the Bible-centered Christian life.
- There are two kind of Christians: Christians who read the Bible and Christians who do not read the Bible.
- There is no way to experience spiritual growth and maturity without reading the Bible.
<< 2 Tim 3:16-17
2 Timothy 3:16–17 ESV
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
- God gave us the Bible for us to be God’s holy people.
- This Bible is God’s inspired Word. This is not just human teachings. This is God’s inerrant Word which was recorded through God’s apostles and prophets carried along by the Holy Spirit.
- The Bible is God’s message for us to live according to God’s will in our lives. Through the Bible, we can listen to his voice and be guided by God every day.
- 2 Tim 3:16-17 says that the Bible equips us to be complete.
>> I exhort you to be Christians who read the Bible and experience the power of the Word every day.
- As we live in this world now and in the future, there are a lot of things that make you confused. When you go to college, you will hear that we have to be tolerant and respect diversity. I agree! We should be tolerant and respect diversity.
- But the thing is that they require beyond just tolerance and diversity.
- They obscure the standard of good and evil, the standard of sins. They say there is no truth. They say there is no God or there are many gods.
>> Whenever you get confused, hold fast to the Bible. It can lead your way and thought into truth.
- The Bible is what the resurrected Jesus acknowledge as the Word of God.
- Even in the chuches, there are churches which do not respect the Bible. They are not healthy chruches. When you have to choose the church later in your life, choose the church in which the Word of God is proclaimed and the Bible is respected.
- Even in the church, there are various messages and various doctrines. Whenever you get confused, let the Bible be the standard for your Christian life and thoughts and worldview.
- If you continue in the Bible, you will be safe and enjoy a healthy Christian life.

Third, love the church!

- The church is the body of Jesus.
<< Eph 1:22-23
Ephesians 1:22–23 ESV
And he put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.
- Church is Jesus’s body. Church is everything of Jesus. That’s why we must love the Lord’s church.
- If we hate the church, we hate Jesus. But if we love the church, we love Jesus.
- I know that many people leave church because they are hurt in the church.
- They still believe in Jesus, but do not go to the church any more.
- It’s a very sad situation.
- In your life, you may have similar experience to these situations. You will may want to leave the church sometimes.
- If that kind of situation happens in the future, nevertheless, don’t leave the church.
- Church is not perfect because it is the place where weak and evil people gather. In a sense, being hurted in the church is very natural.
- Church is not a place without wounds. Church is a place to overcome wounds.
- We experience spiritual growth and maturity in the church, being trained by various trials happening in the church.
- God called us to the church community. And God called us as the church community. So we cannot leave the church. And we must not leave the church.
- Instead of leaving the church, love the church!
- The church is the Lord’s church, the body of Christ.
- Love your church! It is the way to love Jesus on this earth.
- Church is very special thing. It’s incomprehensible.
- Church is very complicated thing. Honestly speaking, I cannot understand God’s will and plan toward the church perfectly.
- But what is clear is that when we love the church, this means that we love Jesus.
>> Love 한마음교회. It’s the church God allows to you.
>> Love Hanmaum Youth. It’s the church God sent you to love.

Youth 사역을 돌아보며

- I began Youth ministry since 2019 July. Until now, it’s about 2 years and 5 months.
- Looking back on the past, I was very happy.
- I was happy to hang out with you guys. I was happy that I could see you grow spritually.
- I remember praying together at the retreats. I was really happy to have the Bible Study for last a few months.
- I am very grateful that you guys have followed me although I am not a good leader. You guys did a great job.
- I am very grateful for teachers’ help and dedication. I am sure that I couldn’t do ministry without these great teachers.
- I am grateful for my wife. She was always supportive of my ministry.
- What I am particularly grateful for is that 강덕훈 전도사님 continues this ministry.
- He has always helped me when I was in youth ministry. He has been in HIBC Youth longer than I have.
- He is a very great minister. So, I feel very relieved that I entrust this ministry to him.
- What matters is that you guys have to help him as you helped me.
- I hope you guys to follow and obey him. Most importantly, pray for him.
