01. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob

A. A God of Covenant Blessings

God's relationship with His people is described throughout the Bible in terms of "covenant"
We are under the covenant of the New Testament, where God made a new covenant with mankind in Jesus Christ
In understanding God's covenant with the patriarchs (Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob), we learn about how God wants us to live in covenantal relationship with Him -
The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob He is a God of Covenant Blessing
I am convinced that people want the blessings of God but I am also convinced that people do not understand the terms [promises and conditions/obligations] of the covenant blessings of God. In other words people think they can live however they want and still receive the blessings of God - NOT SO
God's special covenant name as revealed in the Bible is Yahweh - "Lord"
Inherent in this covenant name is
God's loving-kindness,
His redemptive concern for the human race,
His faithful presence with His people,
and His desire to be in fellowship with them and to be their Lord.
