Exegetical Summary of Luke 7:18-35

There are a number of different opinions about the discourse unit.

The NASB says that this is a deputation from John and has the discourse unit end with verse 39.

The NIV, NRSV, NET have the discourse unit from verse 18-35.

And then the hcsb has the discourse at 7:18:30; and in this case the topic is about the praise of John the Baptist.

Some say the discourse unit should be vs 18-23

where the topic is the messengers from John the Baptist TEV, says this.

John sends two disciples GW says

Jesus reveals himself to John the Baptist

I think that the ....... pericopy is correct because I think that the focus should be on......

And so I am going to argue that this passage is about.........
