Intro - Ryleigh giving overview of the topics.
Matthew 18:2-4 - 2 Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, 3 and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
Today I want to share 3 things I learned about our relationship with God. I didn’t learn these at seminary or in a church meeting but from my children.

Title - Child Like Faith
The Idea - WWMCD - What would my child do?
Trust - Story of Judah swinging in the blanket and being terrified but wanting to go again. He wants to keep going because no matter how scared he is, he trust that his dad will keep him safe!
Matt 28.18-20 - 18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
It doesn’t matter where you are in life right now.... Even though it may be terrifying, trust that God is in control of it! “He has got the whole world in his hands”
It is easy to trust when things are good, but can you trust Him when life gets scary!?
Wonder - Story of boss baby and Judah being super excited for something he has seen 100 times.
Revelation 1.14-16 - 14 His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes like a flame of fire; 15 His feet were like fine brass, as if refined in a furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters; 16 He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword, and His countenance was like the sun shining in its strength.
When did we lose our wonder for the lord? When did He become common?
We have become professional christians who are bored in our religion and lost the wonder and excitement of our first love!
If life with God has become boring, start listening harder, there is a good chance He has been telling you things that you have just tuned out or failed to believe in faith for!
Security - Koda had some health complications and when we told Ry that he almost died she shrugged it off like it was no big deal. Apart or this was that she is a bit too young to really feel the weight of that conversation, but another part is that she is so secure and confident in who she that even in hard times she can have security.
Mark 4.35-41 - 35 On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side.” 36 Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him. 37 And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. 38 But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” 39 Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. 40 But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?” 41 And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!”
As Emily and I have stressed out about money, relationships family etc… Not once has Ryleigh or Judah shared our fear or worry.
As parents we create a safe secure place for our kids, so even when life gets hard they would never know it.
I use to wonder how Jesus had such peace in that boat, and now I know. Jesus wasn’t naive or ignorant of what was going on. He had such confidence and security in His relationship with His father that it didn’t matter what went on outside, He could have peace inside knowing that His father would make everything work to his benefit!
Let your faith in God bring you security knowing that no weapon formed against you can prosper!
Closing
Lets return to Child like faith!
