Psalm 119:1-8

The Message: The Bible in Contemporary Language (Psalm 119)
119 You’re blessed when you stay on course,walking steadily on the road revealed by GOD.You’re blessed when you follow his directions,doing your best to find him.That’s right—you don’t go off on your own;you walk straight along the road he set.You, GOD, prescribed the right way to live;now you expect us to live it.Oh, that my steps might be steady,keeping to the course you set;Then I’d never have any regrets in comparing my life with your counsel.I thank you for speaking straight from your heart;I learn the pattern of your righteous ways.I’m going to do what you tell me to do;don’t ever walk off and leave me.
How many of you remember the toy with the broken colored glass in a tube that you put your eye up to and looked through it in the light. At first glance it was distorted until you turned the end of the tube and the colors came into full focus. You remember the toy right, the kaleidoscope. When I thought on this scripture and how it is telling us to stay focused, I could not help but to think of the kaleidoscope and how life can become distorted when and if we loose focus.
Psalm 119 was written by several believers in God who had been through some things in life that at some point may of cause them to loose focus but knew who to call on when help was needed to get back on track. Some say Ezra, David and Daniel wrote the longest book in the Bible which comprises of 176 verses. In verses 1-8 we will talked about being blessed, walking in God’s way and staying focused on what he tells us. In this we know that God will never leave our side.
One who is focused on God is a blessed person. One must stay the course and when you do the distorted lens that you see your situation through will be cleared and revelation will be given so you know which way to go.
Deuteronomy 28:3 The Message
God’s blessing inside the city, God’s blessing in the country;
Deuteronomy 28:6–7 The Message
God’s blessing in your coming in, God’s blessing in your going out. God will defeat your enemies who attack you. They’ll come at you on one road and run away on seven roads.
Psalm 1 tells us that Happy is the man who does not follow the advise of the wicked or take the path of sinners or join a group of mockers. Instead, his delight is in the Lord’s instruction and he meditates on it day and night.
Stay Focused!
We cannot do this walk on our own. We must ask God to order our steps each and everyday so that we can see the goodness of Gods work and how he is blessing us in spite of our inadequacies and short comings. He has given us the Book on how to stay focused a road map if I may say to stay steady and to show us how to live right for him. You cannot be blessed if you want to go and try to do your own thing without the help of the Lord. God is saying stay focused. Hell and high water may rise in your life and you may feel like you cannot see your way through the broken distorted glass, oh but God say for you to look towards the is Hills but you can ‘t just look towards them you have to look beyond the circumstances that stand before you this day and the days to come for your help comes from the Lord. This is what the Bible says people of God.
A righteous man or woman of God will endeavor to keep the Lords commandments to stay the course. This will bring happiness to ones life and a joy in Christ when life throws us off balance. When we are upright, steady and keep our feet on course we will have no regrets in him, in us or or with others
