Humans can get close - because it’s in us.

Sin has distorted it.

The perfect image is GOD because it is not about personal gain.

How the Bible shows Kindness

Love is patient, love is kind

We are to be salt and light

Kind in our business, family

Kindness is taking action and being aware of others and the Holy Spirit

JESUS is our Example

Communion

Even in Jesus’ excruciating pain on the cross, he was thinking of the needs of his mother.

And after his resurrection, he knew that hungry fishermen needed a good breakfast after a night at sea.

Because of What Jesus has done for us.

Titus 3:3–6 (ESV)

3 For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another.

4 But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior,

Kindness is an action motivated by God’s Kindness toward us.

Paul get frustrated that people don’t accept the free gift of kindness that God gives

In Romans, Paul confronts the church that is divided into Jews vs non-Jews.

God saved us and gave us the Torah and so we are closer to God.

4 Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God’s kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?

Do you think lightly of his kindness and patience with you?

Kindness speaks truth in a Kind way.

Micah 6:8 (ESV)

8 He has told you, O man, what is good;

and what does the Lord require of you

but to do justice, and to love kindness,

and to walk humbly with your God?

Kindness flows out of reliance on GOD.

Write a card to encourage someone

Cook a meal for someone

Mow someone's lawn

Shovel someone's driveway

Bake cookies for your neighbor

Not what’s best for me but what is best for you Because of JESUS.

• What would I do for people if they were Christ?

Habit or discipline to see others differently.

Kindness is betting on someone when no one else will.

I have given up on people God never has and never will.

Conclusion

it is excess-able to everyone

One act of Kindness can have unknown and profound consequences.
