Giving is Gaining!
Giving is Gaining!
Could there be a secret power connected to generosity?
The answer is 100% yes.
Generosity is one of the most powerful concepts in personal growth and blessings because the Bible says,
38 Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
It’s important to unwrap it a little more to discover its true power.
It all starts with giving.
It all starts with giving.
Whether you give money, a car, or your time,
it is all about releasing your valuable assets—
your time, your resources, and your talents.
Did you notice the promises are connected to giving?
It will be given back to you.
It will be given back to you.
Now you and I know this is a promise from God.
When God speaks, it’s a law.
It’s a firm guarantee. Then Jesus describes the manner in which your giving will be given back:
Good measure, Pressed down, Shaken together, and Running over.
Now that’s quite a description.
This is the “Law of Giving and Receiving.”
The return for generosity is over-abundance. Wow!
It sounds risky, but Jesus guarantees that giving isn't losing something—
it's gaining a hundred times more.
Do you want an abundant life?
Do you want an abundant life?
Would you like to live an abundant life?
I hope your answer is yes. Or maybe it’s
“What’s an abundant life?”
The Bible tells us that Jesus gave an amazing revelation to His disciples:
10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
Did you know there are two unseen entities with very different agendas?
Jesus wants to give you the abundant life. The enemy wants to take.
That means your life will be overflowing.
Have you ever had too much?
Have you ever seen a “Vaca Atolada”? (root beer float)
It’s a great picture of the intentions of Jesus.
Try this experiment: take a scoop of ice cream and place it in a large glass. Then add coke and watch the overflowing results.
Jesus promises, ...
38 Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
When you give, God starts blessing you in ways seen and unseen.
You will have too much, and you will have to give more away.
Then God will give you more because He’s always true to His Word.
I’m praying you will “give like crazy’’ as well because you are no longer controlled by fear but by love and faith.
You will live the abundant life because you are trusting in the promises of God.
Can you multiply everything you have?
Can you multiply everything you have?
Many of us need more money, love, favor, and grace. So many people strive to get more.
Some steal, lie, cheat, and swindle others.
Some become workaholics, and others sacrifice their integrity for a nice car.
Have you ever met people who would sell their souls for money?
The Bible tells us a dreadful story of a young man who “...sold his birthright to Jacob. And Jacob gave Esau bread and stew of lentils; then he ate and drank, arose, and went his way. Thus Esau despised his birthright.” (Genesis 25:33-34, NKJV)
33 But Jacob said, “Swear to me first.” So he swore an oath to him, selling his birthright to Jacob.
34 Then Jacob gave Esau some bread and some lentil stew. He ate and drank, and then got up and left. So Esau despised his birthright.
The birthright was the blessing of the father and a double inheritance.
Esau didn’t place value on this unique blessing reserved only for the eldest son. He traded it for a little food.
It looks like he was driven by his immediate appetites instead of a future blessing.
In America, we call this being shortsighted.
There was a young men, that heard it a million times from his dad: “Work hard now so that you can play later.” Although he now knew his dad was speaking the truth, he just couldn’t or wouldn’t grasp it as a teenager.
Unfortunately, he made some mistakes that cost him money and self-respect.
Have you ever been shortsighted like me? What did it cost you?
After I accepted Christ, I started to learn the secret of true happiness and fulfillment.
I started to give things away with a long-term vision in mind.
I gave my time, talents, and even my… I discovered that true wealth came from giving, not taking… sharing, not hoarding in fear.
The Bible told me to
20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.
It also promised that all my giving would return to me: (Matthew 13:8, NIV)
8 Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.
The secret of multiplication is giving.
I hope and pray you’ll take the bold step to think and live with a long-term mindset.
