INTRO

We are in Week 3 of our Series “LEGACY” where we are talking about God’s calling on your life personally and on the church

God has called us to live beyond ourselves...

God is doing something all over the earth.

He is building HIS HOUSE, He is gathering people to himself and preparing a great and glorious end time army of radical Christ followers who are full of faith, dealers of Hope and passionate people who are motivated by Love! A people who will usher in a final move of the Holy Spirit before the great coming of Jesus Christ!

The fact that you are sitting in a church this beautiful Sunday morning is proof to many of you that there must be a GOD! LOL (SMILE).

Today you might be here and feeling a bit isolated, wrestling with faith, and maybe even in a fight with God...

I have Good News for you today! The Holy Spirit has brought you here this morning because there is a plan, purpose and a destiny on your life. He loves you so much that God himself is drawing you in, to refresh your soul, to restore all the good things He planned in advance for you. He’s planting you in His house and putting you with a spiritual family and calling out the significance in your life.

You were created on purpose for a purpose!

You are not the result of some cosmic accident.

God’s been patiently waiting for you... He saw you coming down the road... He knows every thing you’ve done, every thought you’ve had, and He loves you anyways.

You know what I love about God... even when I was not interested in Him at all... He was passionately pursuing me.

LEGACY DEFINED:

1. What we invest in and build with our

lives that will be passed on to others.

2. The imprint and impact of our lives

that will outlive us

A desire to KNOW GOD INTIMATELY is hard wired into us…

I’ve been walking with God now for 23yrs.

In my journey, I’ve seen these traits in people who knew God intimately:

TRAITS OF THOSE WHO KNOW GOD INTIMATELY

1. Sacrificial Love for others (that exceeds convenience)

2. Lifestyle of Generosity

3. Life of Faith, believing for more, living in a bigger world.

4. Love for His Church (the Bride)

5. Love for Mercy and cry for Justice

6. Heart for the Nations

7. Longing for Heaven

Matthew 5:14-16 ESV

14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

FACTS:

The earths circumference is 24,901 Miles

Some of you will drive that amount of miles in 2yrs.

Today is Nov 28th.

If you left the parking lot today and drove an average of 60MPH, 24hrs a day with no breaks, in 17.5 days you would have travelled 24,901 Miles. Some where around December 16th you’d pull back into this parking lot.

7.5x that = 186,757.5 Miles

Traveling @ 60MPH = 130 Days to go around the earth 7.5x…

Traveling at the speed of light you could go around earth 7.5 times in a single second!

The circumference of the earth is 24,901 Miles…

The circumference of the sun is 2.7 Million Miles!

The sun is 93 Million Miles from the earth… further than your Tesla will last you. It only takes 8 min for light to travel 93 Million miles from the Sun to the Earth. That light produces energy, light, heat.

The Sun warms our seas, stirs our atmosphere, generates our weather patterns, and gives energy to the growing green plants that provide the food and oxygen for life on Earth. ... We know the Sun through its heat and light,

LIGHT: Matthew 5:14 - “You are the LIGHT of the World!”

In addition to the Sun, there were 3 Forms of Light during Jesus day...

Torches

Lamps

Candles

Torches were used on the exterior and

Lamps were for the interior

Candles for smaller spaces where less lighting was needed

LAMPLIGHTERS

Even in the late 1800’s, one of the common jobs of the city were men who would go and light the lanterns of the city at sundown.

Even 100yrs ago… 1921 (your parents, grandparents or great grandparents) chances are that unless they were very wealthy, they did not have electricity in their home. In 1925, only about 30% of Americans had electricity. 7 out of 10 lit their homes with gas lighting, lanterns and candles.

When you flip a light on in a room, there is illumination.

Darkness flees... it disperses.

Light breaks up the darkness

Where darkness huddled like an angry mob, light comes in and breaks up the mob.

Where there is light, areas where darkness once prevailed become areas owned by the light.

Where there is light, there is joy.

Where there is darkness there is a level of fear.

Some people fear the dark, other’s light it up!

What you fear in life controls you.

Nyctophobia is an extreme fear of night or darkness that can cause intense symptoms of anxiety and depression. A fear becomes a phobia when it’s excessive, irrational, or impacts your day-to-day life.

There’s professional athletes... massive 300lb linemen who are scared to death of the dark? Literally sleeping with the lights on.

Why, because they partnered with the Spirit of Fear, and that fear has control over that area of their life.

WHAT YOU FEAR CONTROLS YOU.

You fear being alone / You’ll keep yourself busy with others, and when you feel you’ve been looked over, that fear will control you, because you fear being alone.

GOD’s promise is that He’ll never leave you or forsake you. That when you have him, that’s all you need.

You fear being broke. / That fear will motivate you to a degree... but you’ll be looking at the negative which is a pauper mentality, when you were called to be royalty. The drive for money will give you a false sense of security and you could risk compromising your beliefs because you fear not having money.

God’s promise is that he will bless the hands of the dilligent and that it is he who gave you the power to create well (Deuteronomy

JENNIFER SILVER

Jennifer Silver

On Monday evening at 9:47pm, our dear sweet Jennifer Silver danced from this life into Eternity.

Earths Loss is Heaven’s gain.

Jennifer lived for Jesus her entire life, grew up in church, served in the house, was an amazing friend to all, a Southern Belle who was sweet as can be, and a faithful wife to her husband Chad of 16yrs.

As I comforted Chad, we reflected on the memories of Jennifer. And although we will all miss her greatly, Chad shared how a part of him was actually jealous for Jennifer. She was with Jesus!

God is good. We celebrate her life. And we keep on praying for the sick. Is it God‘s will still to heal? Yes! How do we know this? Because we’re everywhere Jesus went he would heal them all… Not some. So because we know that, we continue to pray for the sick believing the sick will be healed.

Even with Lazarus, Jesus raised him from the dead… But the second time, he let him go into eternity.

We do live in a fallen world… We have been given a body to steward over as healthy as we can, and yet when sickness attacks us, we will pray for the sick as Jesus showed us too… And has James commanded us to… Is anyone sick? Call the elders of the church together anointing with oil in the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well.

Those are examples and promises that we hold onto

I shared w/ Chad this scripture out of 2 Peter…

2 Peter 3:8-9 MSG

8-9 Don’t overlook the obvious here, friends. With God, one day is as good as a thousand years, a thousand years as a day. God isn’t late with his promise as some measure lateness. He is restraining himself on account of you, holding back the End because he doesn’t want anyone lost. He’s giving everyone space and time to change.

FOR ALL WHO HAVE LOST LOVED ONES THIS PAST YEAR, IT WILL BE A MILLISECOND OF A SECOND IN ETERNITY… WHEN THEY BARELY TAKE ONE STEP ON THE STREETS OF GOLD, WE WILL BE THERE TOGETHER.

DON’T WASTE A MOMENT OF YOUR LIFE.

LIVE FOR JESUS.

Can You Relate?

Easiest way to share your faith… when you hear of a problem or an issue, ask if you can pray for them immediately.

For Moses writes about the righteousness that is based on the law, that the person who does the commandments shall live by them.
