ABIDING IN CHRIST John 15:1-14.

1. Jesus Christ is the Vine.

2. We are the Branches.

3. Vinedresser.

4. Abide 11 times: How do we abide in Christ?

Abide-ménō, men'-o; a primary verb; to stay (in a given place, state, relation or expectancy): —abide, continue, dwell, endure, be present, remain, stand, tarry (for)

5. Fruit-Three conditions for fruitfulness:

1. Cleansing, vv. 2-3.

2. Abiding, v. 4.

3. Obedience, vv. 10, 12.

There are 4 degrees of Fruit-bearing:

1. No fruit, v. 2, beareth not fruit.

2. Fruit, v. 2.

3. More fruit, v. 2.

4. Much fruit, vv. 5, 8.

There are several kinds of spiritual fruit in the Bible.

Converts: We win folks to Christ. Romans 1:13. Labor: We are part of the harvest. John 4:35, 38.

Conduct: Romans 6:22.

Character: The fruit of the Spirit, Galatians 5:22-23.

6. Six steps to help us to abide in Christ:

REJOICE--Hebrews 13:15.

REQUEST--Philippians 4:6-7; James 1:5; Ephesians 6:18.

RELY--Proverbs 3:5-6.

READ--2 Timothy 3:16; Romans 15:4.

REMEMBER--Psalm 119:11; Psalm 119:16.

REFLECT--Psalm 119:97-100.

7. Love, vv. 12-14.
