Creation
The visible and invisible worlds are so much bigger than you realize.
The main purpose of this advent study is to introduce you to the larger cast of beings in the Bible, to show that Jesus is a major character in the Old Testament, and to trace His story as the Redeemer.
On this first day of our advent study we are going to look at several passages from the Bible that do just that, through the story of creation.
Pay attention when John calls Jesus the Word.
Thoughts
The first verse of the Bible tells us that God created the heavens and the earth.
John gives us more details, that the second person of the trinity, Jesus (or the Word), worked with the Father to create everything!
Job then tells us that while God was creating the world through Jesus, the “morning stars sang together.”
How can stars sing?
They can when “morning stars” is language for angels or spiritual beings.
It must have been glorious to hear angels singing together and shouting for joy was Jesus created the heavens and the earth!
Questions:
Who created the world?
Who was everything created through?
Who sang at Creation?
Prayer
Dear God, you created the world and everything in it, visible and invisible.
Help us to sing and shout for joy in your creation today.
Amen.
This is My Father’s World
