Problem: We wonder why God heals some and not Others.
Big Idea: God's not going to heal you. He already did.
Challenge: Hear and speak the Word over your body

Pray over Word

I thank you, Father, that your word has the power to change my life. I'm a hearer of the word and a doer of the word and I'll never be the same after today. In Jesus name Amen.

Review

Isaiah 53:4-5
But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him...
Isaiah 53:4-5
...and by his wounds we are healed.
Talking about it in past tens. he is in future looking backward.
Many will say that “healing” here meant healing of our spirit or soul.
Matthew 8:16-17
When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick.
sickness and sin are continually paired in the bible.
sickness and sin vs salvation and healing
Matthew 8:16-17
This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: “He took up our infirmities and bore our diseases.
not just about spiritual healing
his stripes were not usual during a Crucifixion

God is not going to heal you.

He already did.

Phil 2 :12
—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,

Psalm 103:1-3
Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits
Psalm 103:1-3
Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits
who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases...
Luke 5:17-26
One day Jesus was teaching, and Pharisees and teachers of the law were sitting there. They had come from every village of Galilee and from Judea and Jerusalem.
And the power of the Lord was with Jesus to heal the sick. Some men came carrying a paralyzed man on a mat and tried to take him into the house to lay him before Jesus. When they could not find a way to do this because of the crowd,
they went up on the roof and lowered him on his mat through the tiles into the middle of the crowd, right in front of Jesus.
When Jesus saw their faith, he said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven.” The Pharisees and the teachers of the law began thinking to themselves, “Who is this fellow who speaks blasphemy? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”
Jesus knew what they were thinking and asked, “Why are you thinking these things in your hearts? Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’?
not which one is harder
But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the paralyzed man, “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.”
forgiveness and healing are connected
Immediately he stood up in front of them, took what he had been lying on and went home praising God. Everyone was amazed and gave praise to God.
sin and sickness don’t glorify God.
Luke 22:19-20
And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.”
In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.”
