In Christ Alone I Place My Trust
Theme for 2021: In Christ and Christ Alone
--
I. God's Reminders
- God is our good Heavenly Father
- He is with us
- He will help, heal, provide, protect, and deliver us
- He will use us to do exploits
- He will anoint and empower us
--
II. God's Expectation
1. POINT People to Jesus
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6)
- No other Way - to God and Heaven
- No other Life that is Abundant and Eternal (Jn 10:10)
Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)
- No other Saviour - to Forgive, Save, Redeem, Justify - except Jesus
2. UPLIFT Jesus and His Name
9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Php 2:9-11)
Jesus alone is
- high and lifted up
- exalted and magnified
- worthy of all praise, worship and adoration
- deserving of all the glory and honor
No one like Him = no comparison, no equal
3. TRUST Jesus Always and Completely
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. (Pro. 3:5-6)
For nothing is impossible with God. (Luke 1:37)
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. (Ps. 46:1)
I lift up my eyes to the mountains — where does my help come from? 2 My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. (Ps. 121:1-2)
Why must we trust Jesus always and completely?
Because He is the All-Sufficient One who can do the miraculous, the supernatural, the unthinkable, the unimaginable, the impossible - for you and your family.
