PRENATAL PRAISE

LUKE 1:39-56--Mary visits Elizabeth.

SENSITIVITY OF THE BABY JOHN, vs. 39-41.

SALUTATION OF ELIZABETH, vs. 42-45.

Dr. J. Vernon McGee says that Elizabeth “had faith while her husband Zacharias did not.” Her humility is also seen in that she acts as if she does not deserve the favor of such a visit. She did not go on about not having her house ready or about wishing she had time to prepare food for Mary.

She is concerned only here with spiritual things. May we be . . .

Two important truths are here:

1) People who believe God are blessed (happy).

2) God will always perform His Word, His promises to us.

Romans 10:17.

Get in our Bible and you will get happy!

SONG OF MARY, vs. 46-56.

Often called “The Magnificat” and it resembles Hannah’s song (1 Samuel 2:1-10).

Mary is not to be worshiped.
