Series: The Major Messages of the Minor Prophets
This Sunday we’re returning to the next book in our (intermittent) Minor Prophets series, which also moves us into a Christmas lead-up, considering some of the Old Testament foretelling's of Jesus. Micah, in many ways, is a quintessential Biblical prophet – condemning sin, pronouncing judgment, and predicting restoration. In Israel, he refers especially to idolatry, injustice and faithless leaders – problems that human beings have never been able to shake. We all worship other gods in our life. We all neglect our fellow image-bearers. And every leader fails in modelling these things. Thankfully, Micah reveals the solution to all of it, both in God’s character (he’s merciful and just) and in the glimpses of the forgiveness, peace and leadership of Jesus Christ.
