Introduction
Introduction
As we close out this book we come to the interactions of Christians with each other.
These interactions bring a lot to consider to the surface.
We find much instruction for men and women of every age and station here.
The Foundational Home
The Foundational Home
Notice that a healthy home is the foundation of relationships in the church (1 Tim. 5:1-2).
We get some instructions about healthy homes here.
Churches should be pressing unhealthy homes to fulfill their roles (1 Tim. 5:7-8).
We particularly extend those family relationships to those who lack them (1 Tim. 5:4).
Regulated Relationships
Regulated Relationships
Charity is not simply giving when it feels good (1 Tim. 5:3-16).
Elders garner a particular level of honor (1 Tim. 5:17-21).
Our relationships should even be guided by consideration of appearances (1 Tim. 6:1-2).
Money Matters
Money Matters
The issue is the amount of focus we put on money (1 Tim. 6:9-10).
If we focus on godliness, then we will have all necessary prosperity (1 Tim. 6:6-8).
Again, we are concerned here with how our attitudes affect our relationships (1 Tim. 6:17-19).
Conclusion
Conclusion
No one is left out here.
God is providing for your care and he is using you to provide for the care of others.
Whether you have a family that provides for you, or you are all alone, God calls you into a far greater family to find and to help provide that care.
Would you join that family today?
