WELCOME / CALL TO WORSHIP:
Good morning Church, my name is Jonny Singh and I’m one of the members of Bangalore Bible church and it is indeed a privilege to be worshipping with each one of you’ll at this mornings Worship Gathering.
Today we live in a culture that is mostly about self preservation, independence & is in general egoistic
Yet the Bible shows us that a life of a Christian is one that is marked
not by pride & being braggy but whose life is a quiet disposition of spirit, whose Joy is in the Lord and People .
As we see in the Life of Christ,
He was humbled to exalt us,
He became a slave to free us,
He became poor to enrich us,
He was sold to redeem us,
He was made captive for our deliverance,
He was made a curse for our blessing,
He was marred that we might be restored,
He died to save us.
Jesus’s life was the incarnation of the most magnificent of paradoxes demonstrating to us what true Christian living ought to be.
Our Call to Worship this morning is taken from,
Matthew 11:28–29 (ESV)
28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
And so Church as we come to Him this morning, may we Come to Him in humility that we might find rest in Him.
Let us all rise and sing our first song.
SONG (STAND): Come Ye Sinners Poor And Needy
Come, ye sinners, poor and needy
Weak and wounded, sick and sore
Jesus ready, stands to save you
Full of pity, love and power
I will arise and go to Jesus
He will embrace me in His arms
In the arms of my dear Savior
Oh, there are ten thousand charms
Come, ye thirsty, come and welcome
God's free bounty glorify
True belief and true repentance
Every grace that brings you nigh
Come, ye weary, heavy-laden
Lost and ruined by the fall
If you tarry 'til you're better
You will never come at all
I will arise and go to Jesus
He will embrace me in His arms
In the arms of my dear Savior
Oh, there are ten thousand charms
Feel Him prostrate in the garden
On the ground your Maker lies
On the bloody tree, behold him
Sinner, will this not suffice?
Lo, the incarnate God ascended
Pleads the merit of his blood
Venture on him, venture wholly
Let no other trust intrude
I will arise and go to Jesus
He will embrace me in His arms
In the arms of my dear Savior
In the arms of my dear Savior
In the arms of my dear Savior
Oh, there are ten thousand charms
RESPONSIVE READING:
Psalm 37:1–11 (ESV)
1 Fret not yourself because of evildoers;
be not envious of wrongdoers!
2 For they will soon fade like the grass
and wither like the green herb.
3 Trust in the Lord, and do good;
dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness.
4 Delight yourself in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
5 Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him, and he will act.
6 He will bring forth your righteousness as the light,
and your justice as the noonday.
7 Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him;
fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way,
over the man who carries out evil devices!
8 Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath!
Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil.
9 For the evildoers shall be cut off,
but those who wait for the Lord shall inherit the land.
10 In just a little while, the wicked will be no more;
though you look carefully at his place, he will not be there.
11 But the meek shall inherit the land
and delight themselves in abundant peace.
PRAYER OF ADORATION (SIT):
Heavenly Father we come to you this morning acknowledging our short comings yet knowing that you are the God who knows the very end from the beginning.
In your Mercy and Grace Father, you spared us from the punishment & wrath that we deserve and sent your Son who became Sin for us.
Lord Jesus, We praise you Jesus, for you are gentle & lowly in heart, who is accessible and gracious, your heart is tender and kind and it is your kindness that leads us to repentance.
You provide us rest Lord for you are the living water and the bread of life , what more can we ask.
Holy Spirit of God we praise you for convicting us when we do not walk in your ways, you cause us to actually feel & know the heart of Christ, you are our helper our comforter , our counsellor.
And so we ask Lord that even as we continue to worship you this morning that you speak to us, sanctify us and give us a heart that is of Christ.
May we delight in you this morning for it is in Christ’s name we pray.
Amen
Psalms 46:10 – “Be still, and know that I am God.”
