Galatians 6:7–10 (NIV) 7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8 Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
“Share Good” To those Who Teach- Galatians 6:6 (NKJV) 6 Let him who is taught the word share in all good things with him who teaches.
8 payed Australia - Allowances 8 Uganda- “People not Buildings”
Are You sharing your good?
Begins With Dont Be Deceived- stray from the truth
Good Works Are Light---Matthew 5:16 (NKJV) 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
No Sharing Good No light???
Its A Choice- you make the choice, at some point you choose to be decieved?
Mocking God- dont kid yourself into thinking there arent cosequences behind your actions. You will reap a harvest. Gods princepal of sowing and reaping will happen.
Sowing & Reaping- what you do and say will have an out come in your life. Sow good reap good. sow flesh reap flesh.
There are consequences to our actions! What you do and say are like seeds that will reproduce their DNA.
Sowing Good or Bad Reaps A Harvest- what you sow will produce a harvest. Good will multiply Good. Your good deed is a seed you plant. Seeds multiply their like or DNA. Seeds reproduce the princepal of multiplication. seed reproduces fruit that contain thousands of other seeds that then can reproduce many more thousands.
A Harvest of Good - Consequence- It can produce a harvest of good many times greater that the input. You just dont get back what you put in but a multiplication of good can occur. To those involved, and who will be affected by that good.
Illustration- Ken Barbers plant in a shoe. “The yellow envelope of $20”
The Recipiant - The possibilities for the $20 - a mother gets a weeks food(40% of sub-sahara Africa live at or below the extreem poverty line)- a child gets one shoe of a pair - a third of the annual school fees (Ignite School fees are $18 a term)
Others Involved in the process- the school gets fees for a child that couldnt pay that they would have to find somewhere else(25% of children cant afford the fees)- Keith was deeply moved by the gift.
The Giver of Good- Ken will also reep good in his life personally. Health Benfit
“A Harvest of Good” “Light Invades Darkness
Many Multitudes of Transactions of Good- many here today are transactors of Good that are well worthy of mention and praise that are producing harvests of good.
Growing Weary Doing Good
NIV. 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Galatians 6:9 (NKJV) 9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
A Warning To Us- Paul included himself- Us means all of us who are in the process of doing good. We all need to be aware and mindful.
To Those Doing Good- not just talking but being activly involved in doing works that shine Gods light to the world around you.
Tiredness- Tiredness is the result of using up energy to do things. Thats why we sleep to allow the body and mind to rest and recover.
Weary-feeling or showing extreme tiredness, especially as a result of excessive exertion. Exhausted. Its the next level beyond tired. Its when you go to sleep and wake up and feel weak and still tired.
Bible Weary- lose heart, faint, be weak, discouraged, to give up.
Dont Give Up
Wearyness- Enemy To Doing Good- it can effect our ability to continue doing good. Everyone who is doing good needs to be mindful of it.
Doing good Requires- comittment, faith, excersion or energy output, it means putting yourself into contact with the recepiant of the target and others who are involved in the task of doing good.
Growing Weary Doing Good- It starts to grow through seeds
Discouragement- What I do isn’t worth it. “Im sick of all the hassle and flack I take” “Nobody cares or sees what I do” “What I do just gets taken for granted”
Exhaustion- extreem tiredness- Im just so tired its like I cant hardly do this anymore. “Im so tired of all the complaints” “I cant deal with this anymore”
Lost Heart- I feel so heavy and empty inside. I just dont care the way I use to. unenthuiseactive about doing this.
Illustration- More than one third of Pastors in the US are considering or have considered giving up 1 year after Covid appeared on the scene
Wait On the Lord
Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV) 31 But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.
Wait- hope in, wait for and in
We Lose sight of The Why “The Lord”- Why We Do - The Reason For Season We get involved with Gods hand but dont connect with His heart
Sitting Before Doing
Waiting is strongly connected to inactivity or being still. Not doing but paused for something to happen or someone to come. This thing must happen before i do what i am going to do. I cant do what I want to do before this happens.
Rushing Ahead is not Waiting.
Waiting Engages you With The Preson of Jesus- You fall in love with Him
Waiting Produces Power and Effectiveness- “Wait in Jerusalem before.....” When you wait on God you get His help and strength. You can often tell how much someone has been waiting on god by the fruit it produces
Waiting Increases The Longivity of The Out put of Good- Ive been involved from dot with minitry and there have been many times Ive been weary doing good and said all the above. going back to him and waiting on him has been my survival technic.
Illustration-Barna statistics for pastors- 90% of pastors that enter the ministry with the intention of committing for till retirement give up along the way and do something else.
Isaiah 6:8 (NKJV) 8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”
