Brand New Series | Leading up to Christmas | God’s Big Story | We trace Jesus through the entire bible, well maybe not but 4 weeks to learn about the Saviour, leading up to the Birth of the Savior.
We are going to learn God’s big plan for Harmony with us, for relationship and for Redemption and for revival

My Hope: You will understand that God is the God of revival, and what ever you have you’ll get practical tips on how to revive it.

Ok 4 big weeks, learning about the Saviour, where do we start? | Start at Beginning | To understand we need a saviour, we have to understand why.

Learn how it applies to us. Today | You will naturally want to go “not me” - this is not about condemnation | About how Sinful Condition keeps us away from God.
For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate. God had a plan a design | They disobeyed that plan | Why? because they thought they could do it better | Something has changed here | Collaboration to Competition = When ever you go against God, you make God, the Enemy.
Business Analogy
It was their disobedience to God’s Plan - Paul puts it this way
For as by the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous.
Jesus Came to do what we could not in the Garden, and what we could not do now, because of the Garden.
Enemy here decieves Word of God: Love = Envy | Service = servility | Suicidal plunge = Lead to life | Pattern repeats today.

V7 = Covers fig leaves = SIN ALWAYS leads to SHAME.
Point 1: Tempatation leads to disobedience and always ends in shame.
Discipline, over regret.
They where tempted by what they could not have.

2. Confrontation - Then we see God Confront them.
Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loincloths.
And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.
Men, when a woman is behind you, especially your wife, you knew.
They heard Sound | Not Voice = Doing it your way, seperates you from God.
calling to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who is seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb,
But the Lord God called to the man and said to him, “Where are you?”
V9 - God asks Question: God shows GRACE, before TRUTH = Grace Saves, Truth Sets Free. sodom & Ghomora | Angel of Death | God is a God of Grace and Love - Right now, in a time of Chance.
God asks a question to “Draw you” not “Drive you”
And he said, “I heard the sound of you in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked, and I hid myself.”
Afraid of God = Fallen Condition = Seperation.
The man said, “The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me fruit of the tree, and I ate.” Then the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this that you have done?” The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”
Blame Woman, then Blames God = Pride, No responsability.
Point: God is who you go to, not run from when you need something revived. Repentance is on you.
3. Sentence
God now issues the sentence, and I want to concentrate on Satans Sentence.
The Lord God said to the serpent,
“Because you have done this,
cursed are you above all livestock
and above all beasts of the field;
on your belly you shall go,
and dust you shall eat
all the days of your life.
I will put enmity between you and the woman,
and between your offspring and her offspring;
he shall bruise your head,
and you shall bruise his heel.”
God Curses Satan but within Curse, there is HOPE. in a Saviour - In God’s Wrath, we find God’s Love.
God is by nature a saviour, redeemer, gracious, merciful and loving.
When Adam and Eve Sinned the enemy thought he had won.
Satan thinks “I win” and God says “Not so fast”
Who is Satan? *Talk about Satan*
And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.
I will put enmity between you and the woman,
and between your offspring and her offspring;
he shall bruise your head,
and you shall bruise his heel.”
This is called a Protevangelium = First Gospel. First Hope of Gospel. and Gospel is given in a time of judgement. There is rebellion and God says, hang on I have good news.
Enmity = “Deep anamosity against beings or a state or feeling of active opposition or hostility” - Sparks the invisible war. Listen you need to know WHY you are in a battle. 1st rule of war “Know the enemy and how they operate” 2 Options (satan had)= Evade or strike first. This is what Satan does the whole time.
God is saying here: If you think you’ve won, you’re wrong - God will enable Man, in their sinful condition to be transformed and Hate Satan and Love God = We are those people. There are people opposite.
IT says there will be enmity from all offspring -Except HE. HE makes it one man. Only place in bible that it is SEED from a WOMAN why?
But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law,
Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Jesus was born of a Virgin = Without the seed of Sin.
Bruised Heel = On a Cross, not damaged, will recover - LISTEN ALLOWED AND FORESEEN.
This is explamation int owhy life is the way it is | Why people don’t seek God | Why we try and do it ourselves | Why we need the Spirit and why.we need a saviour.
What do we do with all of this?

What happens when there are things in our life that we need to revive? You’ll want to hide, you’ll want to retract, what do we do?

Literally means = in times of trouble God provides.
What does that mean for us?

When ever you draw near, he draws near to you.
What happens when you reach out to God? (Our kids)
Come, open up your hearts = He sent His Son to have RELATIONSHIP with YOU.

I find it soooo hard to be STILL because I am not in CONTROL or CONTRIBUTE.
There are some battles, that only He can win.

Don’t be like Adam and Eve, Don’t hide - Don’t run, don’t withdraw - Step in, to God’s presence - Give it to him and step in, to community, step in, to love, come as you are.
