Introduction

How many of you of seen or have regular contact with people who claim to be Christian yet live as the rest of the world?
In 2019 Pew Research Center says that 65% of Americans claim Christianity
However..
Only 43% are of Protestant Denomination
However this includes those the emergent church, progressive church, and post-christian denominations; as well as multiple cults
20% claim to be Catholic
Catholic doctrine denies the sufficiency of Christ and ultimately works based
And 2% Mormon
Mormonism is a cult that removes the sufficiency of Christ, the deity of Christ, preaches blasphemy, teaches the cross is foolishness (I Cor 1:18), and ultimately worships the man who is Joseph Smith.
Lynn and Mike Wilder
Lynn grew up Presbyterian and Mike grew up Baptist
In 1977, they were converted. Tell conversion story
I’m going to stop right there and come back later to this story
Mike and Lynn, as the vast of majority of people who claim the religion of Christianity, were nominal Christian
Turn to Jeremiah 12:2

What does it mean to be nominal?
