Pretty much everyone loves Christmas, right?
What all do we love about Christmas?
Let people call out some answers
But why do we celebrate Christmas?
The reason for the season is…?
It’s the celebration of Jesus’ birth.
God came from Heaven to Earth, taking on flesh, to live a human life.
Why?
In his own words, simply put...
He came to seek and save the lost, that was his mission.
But He ascended back to Heaven at the end of his time on Earth.
And there are still lost people who will be saved.
So how is Jesus accomplishing what He came for?
Through us.
As we celebrate Jesus’ arrival on Earth, let’s remember why He came to us and that He has handed the mission off to his people until He returns.
So how do we carry it on?
pray
Jesus came to seek and to save the lost and He put us in charge when He went back.
How are the lost saved?
The lost are saved by putting their faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, by believing in the Gospel.
God created humans in his image.
Adam and Eve, our first parents, rebelled against God and entered into sin and brought a sinful nature to humanity.
Sin separates us from God.
Jesus lived a sinless life.
Jesus died a sinner’s death
Jesus conquered death and sin and rose from the grave.
All who believe this Gospel will be saved.
Receiving credit for Jesus’ sinless, righteous life and having their sins paid for by Jesus’ death.
Gaining the promise of victory over sin and death.
Stop here and offer an opportunity to respond to the Gospel
So all that is kind of a lot to remember, so we’re going to look at a couple different methods of sharing the Gospel.
