Prayer

Acts 4:23-35.

That they had been with Jesus: Acts 4, 13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

We cannot deny it: Acts 4, 16 Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.

We cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard: Acts 4, 20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.

For all men glorified God for that which was done: Acts 4, 21 So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all men glorified God for that which was done.

Lord is Sovereign Lord: Acts 4, 24 And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:

Paul believed in prayer: Romans 15, 30 Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ's sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me;

The Word of God and prayer go together: Acts 15, 7 And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.

Pray for specific needs: 1 John 5, 14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us.

The united church gets answers: Acts 4, 31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

Above all, pray.
