Zechariahs Visions

His 1st vision is God’s great love for Jerusalem and its people
next vision is of the 4 horns/ world empires who are oppressing the People
with the 4 Horns will be the 4 De-horners
with the last craftsman who is the stone
the stone that the builders rejected
the stone that crushed
the stone that is the cornerstone
the stone that pulverizes the empires/ nations
turns them into chaff
this stone is none other than the Rock of our Salvation
Zechariahs 3dr vision Jerusalem is living in peace and safety
Read Zechariah 2
Pray

The Surveyor

the third vision is on that same night
a reminder that these visions are for Jerusalem and the Israelite people
some want to spirtualize these and make them for the Church
the Church can learn much from these prophecies, they are for the Israelites and for Jerusalem
the third vision
again it says, “I looked up”
and this time he saw a surveyor
Zechariah 2:1–2 LEB
And I looked up and I saw, and look, a man, and in his hand was a measuring rope! And I asked, “Where are you going?” And he answered me, “To measure Jerusalem to see what is its width and what is its length.”
we need to Identify these characters in this vision
the man here/ the surveyor
some say this is Jesus because in other verses in Zechariah He is portrayed as a man
but I think it is just a Surveyor
and what is he doing?
trying to keep up with the growing Jerusalem
Zechariah 2:3 LEB
And look, the angel who was talking to me was coming forward, and another angel was coming forward to meet him.
2 angels 1 is the interpreting angel
the other angel I think is Jesus
because of the message
Zechariah 2:4–5 LEB
And he said to him, “Run, say to that young man, ‘Jerusalem shall be inhabited like villages without walls because of the multitude of people and animals in its midst. And I will be for it a wall of fire all around,’ declares Yahweh, ‘and I will be the glory in its midst.’ ”
I will be a wall
I will be the glory in its midst
then we have the young man = Zechariah
The Message
Jerusalem will be inhabited in safety and peace
I will be a wall of fire around it
Has anything like this ever happened to Jerusalem?
no walls
living in peace
with the Glory of God in its midst / When Jesus was there
but they rejected and killed Him
Has this ever happened to Israel?
at the time of the Exodus
the pillar of fire and God on the mercy seat in the Holy of Holies
another time in the future that jerusalem will be protected by fire
Revelation 20:7–10 LEB
And when the thousand years are completed, Satan will be released from his prison and he will go out to deceive the nations that are at the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to assemble them for battle, whose number is like the sand of the sea. And they went up on the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the fortified camp of the saints and the beloved city, and fire came down from heaven and consumed them. And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulphur, where the beast and the false prophet also are, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
Zechariah was told that Jerusalem would be as towns without walls
small towns were not protected by walls, they would go to the fortified cities for protection

So Come Home

Zechariah 2:6–8 LEB
“Woe! Woe! Flee from the land of the north,” declares Yahweh, “for I have scattered you like the four winds of the heavens,” declares Yahweh. “Woe, Zion! Escape, you inhabitants of the daughter of Babylon!” For thus said Yahweh of hosts, after glory he sent me against the nations plundering you: Truly, the one touching you is touching the apple of his eye.
you have your chance leave Babylon
yes it’s comfortable there
yes it’s where you have your life
yes it’s now your home
there is nothing but promises back here in the promised land
these comforts you are now experiencing are but a fleeting moment
God is going to judge these nations
because they have caused you pain
they are touching the apple of My eye
the pupil the most sensitive part of the body
if you get a piece of dust in your eye you know it
God is so sensitive to the Jewish people that He is in pain when they are mistreated
lets park right here for now
This is going to hurt me a lot more than it’s going to hurt you
lets look a Saul on the road to Damascus
Acts 9:3–5 LEB
Now as he proceeded, it happened that when he approached Damascus, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. And falling to the ground, he heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?” So he said, “Who are you, Lord?” And he said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting!
Saul was torturing people, putting them in jail
having them killed
what does Jesus say?
I think the same thing God said in Zechariah
you are the apple of my eye, when they touch you, they are touching my eye
Saul why are you poking that stick into my eye
why are you causing me pain
you are hurting my beloved bride, thus you are hurting me
God is not an impersonal being out of touch with reality
if God is hurt by the Israelites and the Church being persecuted
how much is God hurt by His people sinning against Him
His church refusing to obey
His church refusing to spend time with Him
The father of the prodigal son looked longingly for his return
The Holy Spirit is grieved by our actions and attitudes
do we not remember how we hurt, or do we just do not care.

Justice

Zechariah 2:9 LEB
“Yes, look! I am going to wave my hand against them, and they will become plunder for their servants, and you will know that Yahweh of hosts has sent me.
God is a Just God all wrongs will dealt with perfect justice
all wrong doings to us by someone else will be perfectly punished, not to much not to little
some people have been abused, beaten, raped, killed
but god in His perfect justice will punish
and perfect punishment is not a slap on the wrist
a restraining order, or I will let you go if you promise
Romans 12:19 LEB
Do not take revenge yourselves, dear friends, but give place to God’s wrath, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.
God says perfect justice, perfect punishment, He will give
The Father put upon the Son our punishment
God’s perfect justice , His perfect punishment
Jesus took in our place
Zechariah 2:9 LEB
“Yes, look! I am going to wave my hand against them, and they will become plunder for their servants, and you will know that Yahweh of hosts has sent me.
God is going to cause the empires that abused the Jews to be brought down
a shaking came to Babylon and was brought to nothing
God wants the people to come home before that happens

The Millennial Kingdom

Now God is giving Zechariah a glimpse of the far future
Zechariah 2:10–13 LEB
Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion, for look, I am coming and I will dwell in your midst,” declares Yahweh. “Many nations will join themselves to Yahweh on that day, and they will be my people, and I will dwell in your midst. And you will know that Yahweh of hosts has sent me to you. And Yahweh will inherit Judah as his portion in the holy land, and he will again choose Jerusalem. Be silent, all people, before Yahweh, for he is roused from his holy dwelling.”
Going into the millennial Kingdom
Jesus will be on the throne
He would have crushed all of the armies of the world
He would have put Satan in the abyss for the thousand years
the lamb will snuggle with the lion
children will play with snakes
weeds and thorns will no longer infest the ground
for a thousand years there will be peace
for a thousand years there will be perfect justice
for a thousand years no baby's will miscarry
for a thousand years there will be no more war
As we saw before Jesus will be the walls of protection around the city
and a familiar Christmas verse
Isaiah 9:6–7 AV
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
1. v. 6 “Wonderful Counselor” – a king with great wisdom 2. v. 6 “Mighty God” – a king with divine power 3. v. 6 “Everlasting Father” – a king who acts like a father to his people 4. v.6 “Prince of Peace” – a king who brings peace
the angel came to Mary and said your son till rule on the throne of David
Luke 1:30–33 AV
And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
Jehovah/God the King in Jerusalem
to Zechariah there was no better comforting words
to us today there is no better comforting words
some think that President Trump is what this world needs
but he cant hold a candle to King Jesus
