In ancient Judaism, Yahweh could be found on mountains (Sinai or Zion).
Mount Zion is the “mountain of assembly,”
At Sinai, Moses and others saw the seated God of Israel, under whose feet was a pavement “like sapphire tile work and like the very heavens for clearness” (Exod 24:9–10).
In many ancient religions, luxurious gardens and inaccessible mountains were considered the home of the gods.
Sometimes these mountains were also known as Ziggurats
For example, in Mesopotamia, the human-made ziggurat was a mountain-temple where the gods met humanity.
Eden appears in Ezekiel 28:2 as the “seat of the gods,” the place where Yahweh runs the cosmos with His heavenly host
Another way to look at Eden is to see it as God’s home and, therefore, where he conducted business. It was his headquarters, or home office.

The Mountain of the Lord’s House

Isaiah 2:1–4 ESV
1 The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. 2 It shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established as the highest of the mountains, and shall be lifted up above the hills; and all the nations shall flow to it, 3 and many peoples shall come, and say: “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob, that he may teach us his ways and that we may walk in his paths.” For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. 4 He shall judge between the nations, and shall decide disputes for many peoples; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.
We see that the mountain of the Lord’s House will be established in the top of the mountains.
The word top is the Hebrew word rosh and it means head.
It is saying that the mountain of the Lord’s house will be the head of all other mountains.
Anytime we read about mountains in Scripture they are speaking of governments, seen and unseen.
Matthew 17:19–21 (ESV)
19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?”
20 He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”
Verse 21 in the KJV says, “Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer in fasting.
In this passage, Jesus is informing his disciples that if they have faith as a grain of mustard seed, they can speak to this mountain and it would move.
Jesus was informing them that one of the reasons why they could not help the boy was because they were dealing with a demonic mountain in the spirit.
This was no ordinary demonic situation.
This boy had become a place of a demonic government.
The power and authority required to deal with this was greater than a normal circumstance. Because they hadn’t recognized this, they had been unsuccessful.
There are times when we encounter not just demonic imps that need to be cast out, but demonic mountains that have become governmental in nature and function.
This requires a greater realm of authority to move them out of the way.
When it says the mountain of the Lord’s house is in the top of the mountains, it is saying that the government of God will rule over all other governments.
“One time a prophet’s wife had a dream about me. In her dream her husband, the prophet, and I had identical garages standing next to each other. The moment I heard there were garages in the dream, I knew it spoke of a ministry center. Garages house vehicles. Vehicles almost always speak of ministry, business and anything that is being led or directed. When I dream about driving a car, flying a plane or anything like that, I know God is speaking about the ministry I direct and lead. When she told me about the garages, I knew it spoke of that which housed the ministry. She went on to relay that as she entered her husband’s garage it looked like a normal garage. But as she entered my garage, it had a mountain in it although you couldn’t tell it from the outside. When she told me the dream, I wondered if there was a mountain in my garage because I lived in Colorado. I didn’t yet understand that mountains spoke of government. As I became aware of this concept I knew that God was saying that He was raising a ministry center that would have a mountain in it. He was raising a House with a Mountain in it. It would look like a normal house from the outside, but it would be a governmental people that would exercise governmental authority from the mountain in the house. - Robert Henderson

3 Types of Mountians

Demonic Mountains

The Governmental Office

One of the Apostolic gifts is government .
This gift is used to clearly articulate, bring structure to and adequately administrate the move of God.
The way that this works is that when there is a move of God apostles can assess it, in order to determine what systems and structures need to be set in place, in order to properly facilitate what is taking place to the end that it is completely established and not lost or forfeited.
In order to bring government and order, apostles have to first be able to clearly articulate the move of God in which government is intending to be established.
Many still believe that the height and pinnacle of their preaching is some type of response from the people whether in be in their celebration or their response to an altar call. However, apostolic preaching carries more weight than that.
Through it, Peter was able to clearly articulate the move of God that had hit the upper room, and in result, 3000 were added to the church.
Peter was only able to articulate the move of God because he actually embodied the move of God.
Apostles don't preach what they don't carry.
Jesus clearly taught that placing old wine in old wineskins and new wine in new wineskins would preserve both the old wine and the new wine together (Luke 5:38). Jesus did not imply in any way that the new wine was maybe in some way better than old wine.
Apostles have to be able to construct new wineskins and models of ministry while at the same time preserving the old. This is partly what their grace for helps and governments exist to create.
Everything they do houses the power to both author and finish a particular work. On one spectrum they can preserve what has been and secure the foundations of old, and on the other spectrum they bring into existence things that have not been causing the church to advance beyond the times.
We discover this revelation in the definition of the word patience in the text. Let’s take a look at it. 2 Corinthians 12:12 Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds.
Apostles understand there are many models through which the kingdom of God is expressed and that the administration and government of the church must constantly adjust to accommodate the progressive moves of the Spirit.
Their mantles immediately adjust to the demands and communicates the wisdom necessary to advance. The following consists of four examples of the leadership structure of the church evolving.

Tell them about your assignment to destroy the prophets of baal.
Deuteronomy 12:1–4 ESV
1 “These are the statutes and rules that you shall be careful to do in the land that the Lord, the God of your fathers, has given you to possess, all the days that you live on the earth. 2 You shall surely destroy all the places where the nations whom you shall dispossess served their gods, on the high mountains and on the hills and under every green tree. 3 You shall tear down their altars and dash in pieces their pillars and burn their Asherim with fire. You shall chop down the carved images of their gods and destroy their name out of that place. 4 You shall not worship the Lord your God in that way.
This is the Apostolic Call!

Jesus, Destroyer of the gods.

Psalm 82 ESV
A Psalm of Asaph. 1 God has taken his place in the divine council; in the midst of the gods he holds judgment: 2 “How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? Selah 3 Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute. 4 Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.” 5 They have neither knowledge nor understanding, they walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken. 6 I said, “You are gods, sons of the Most High, all of you; 7 nevertheless, like men you shall die, and fall like any prince.” 8 Arise, O God, judge the earth; for you shall inherit all the nations!
Job even referred to Yahweh as He who removes mountains!
Job 9:5 (ESV)
5 he who removes mountains, and they know it not, when he overturns them in his anger,

The Issue Is Your Faith Not My Power!

Let’s go back to Matthew 17. But lets start reading in verse 14 this time.
You see the context of this passage takes place immediately after the transfiguration.
This situation draws a sharp contrast between the glory of Jesus and the inability of the disciples to heal the boy.
Matthew 17:14–21 ESV
14 And when they came to the crowd, a man came up to him and, kneeling before him, 15 said, “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he has seizures and he suffers terribly. For often he falls into the fire, and often into the water. 16 And I brought him to your disciples, and they could not heal him.” 17 And Jesus answered, “O faithless and twisted generation, how long am I to be with you? How long am I to bear with you? Bring him here to me.” 18 And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him, and the boy was healed instantly. 19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?” 20 He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”
The problem was their faith.
A minuscule amount of faith can overcome overwhelming obstacles.

Apostles Move Mountains!

1 Corinthians 13:2 (ESV)
2 And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
