WHAT IS FOR DESSERT?

We Methodists are known for two things.  What are they?  Taking offerings and eating.

1)         Remember the painting of the poor man praying over a small chunk of bread and a glass of water?  But we all want more, a bigger meal.

2)        Look at I John 3.5.  1 John 3:5 (NLT)  5 And you know that Jesus came to take away our sins, and there is no sin in him.[1]

3)        “Mercy” implies that we didn’t deserve it.

4)        What is “born again”

God’s dessert is more like what we call a great banquet.

#370  3 verses

1 Peter 1:3 a&b (NLT)
3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead.[2]
