Read Psalm 139:13-14
For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother’s womb.
I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.
It is important for us to understand not only where we come from but who we come from. It is not hard to get wrapped up in testimonies and begin to think about all the things that show us to be valuable. It is not hard to begin comparing and contrasting ourselves to others and to our past. If we are not careful we begin to measure our value and our worth based upon worldly standards and worldy measurements. We are holy and were created holy. We are a masterpiece that is being worked on continually everyday, with God making slight alterations constantly. You are not bad and you are not good, rather you are exactly as you were made to be.
Read Philippians 1:6
being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;
Read Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Conclusion
Having self-confidence and a high self-esteem doesn’t have to mean you are arrogant or lack humility. It doesn’t mean you have to be bold and confrontational. Jesus had a high self-esteem, He knew His value. Paul had a high self-esteem, he knew his value. Peter and John had a high self-esteem, they knew their value. Of course there are exceptions to every rule and this goes both ways. That being said, self-confidence and self-esteem are often misunderstood with the acitons taken by the exceptions rather than the normal.
Let us take time this week to pray and to reflect. Let us take time this week to talk with God and ask Him about ourselves, His plan, and our life. Ask Him what He thinks of you and what He has for you, and then pause and listen and wait patiently for the answer.
