Introduction

During a bible study, God dropped into my heart a scene in heaven. In heaven I saw many people and among the people were those that stopped to look around and speak to those that had made it in. Some in the crowd were very shocked to find some of those unexpected individuals in heaven. So they stopped and asked those individuals, “How did you make it in?”
That’s a reasonable question to ask anyone in heaven. I believe , when we get there, if there’s such a thing, some may be surprised to find us there. Surely, there will be some that will be able to say—no matter how deserving one may think themselves to be—how did “they” make it in?
The question is not how did “they” make it in. Rather, the question is how will any of us make it in?
Salvation comes with difficulty, and none of us will make it to heaven with ease. Rather, the 1 Peter 4:18 “18 And if a righteous person is saved with difficulty, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?” shows us that the righteous will enter the kingdom with difficulty.
This passage refers to the belabored effort that will cause the righteous to barely make it into heaven. The truth is, none of us will be able to boast of how they easily entered heaven. We will all barely make it.

Will only a few make it?

Will there be such hardship that only a few of us make it?
Matthew 7:14-15 “14 How narrow is the gate and difficult the road that leads to life, and few find it. 15 “Be on your guard against false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravaging wolves.”
The secret to understanding this passage is the fact that it is directed to Israel. This confirmed in Revelation 7.

The Blood of the Lamb and the Saving of the Nations

The prophets spoke about the day when all nations would gather together and flock to the holy mountain of God.
Isaiah 2:2-3 “2 In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s house will be established at the top of the mountains and will be raised above the hills. All nations will stream to it, 3 and many peoples will come and say, “Come, let’s go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us about his ways so that we may walk in his paths.” For instruction will go out of Zion and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.”
Genesis 15:5 “5 He took him outside and said, “Look at the sky and count the stars, if you are able to count them.” Then he said to him, “Your offspring will be that numerous.””
Genesis 32:12 “12 You have said, ‘I will cause you to prosper, and I will make your offspring like the sand of the sea, too numerous to be counted.’ ””
